I'm been lapse in my Yoga practice at home so I've lost a little bit, though I can still touch my chin with my toes |

I can: Put my right foot on top of my head. Put my right foot on my left shoulder. Put the smallest toe on my right foot in my right ear.
I am currently attempting: To get my right foot behind my head. |

Alas a few years ago I tore a ligament in my lower back. But before I did that I used to be able to lie on my back, raise legs and back into the air (shoulders and head on floor) bring my legs over my head and down so that my knees were on the floor behind my shoulders, then bring my head and shoulders up so I was in a kneeling position. Had to tie my hair back before doing this of course, or I'd kneel on it and get stuck.
I impressed quite a few people that way in my youth ![]()

I used to do ballet and gymnastic, so was quite flexible. Nowadays, because of bad health mostly, it's less.

well I still have enough flexibility for my high kicks and have excellent balance. But I'm darned if I can get my feet to my ears anymore. Gonna have to resume my stretching exercises

Ooh, I suddenly remembered though, that this year on vacation, I could still make a "bridge", i.e. bend over backwards unsupported till your hands touch the ground (so you look like a 'bridge'), then kick up your legs and 'backflip' till you're in standing position again. I thought that was pretty impressive considering the fact that I haven't exercised (apart from hiking/cycling) in years and years.
![]() Mark, you're right - that *is* tougher than it seems. My legs are sooooo stiff, I haven't been able to put my hands flat on the floor with straight knees in ages ![]() But hey, at least I've got a flexible mind! ![]() [ 06-23-2002, 12:05 PM: Message edited by: Melusine ]
