I've never understood the popularity of the various SIMS games myself. I just don't get it.

Whether Ashcroft's objections actually occurred or not, I do agree with the general sentiment expressed in the O.P. Why should kids bother downloading any Anime' porn. Now they will be able to create their own and not have to worry about being tracked by any spyware in the process.

Sadly, I can see why this version of SIMS will be popular.

Mr. Ashcroft just needs one good BJ.

Look, it's like explicit rap lyrics, pornography, or Vice City -- if you don't want your kids to have it, disallow it. Adults play video games too (points to this forum for evidence), and this is fair and fun entertainment, if not "family friendly."

If Mr. Ashcroft doesn't want to believe people have sex, and if he doesn't want to believe we all dream of coming home and finding our wife making out with another woman, well that's his business. I just don't think he deserves a public servant job where he's making these decisions for other people living in the land of the free.

Call me a cynic, but controvercy = sales. EA probably didnt engeneer this stunt (im not *that* paranoid...yet), but this sure is going to be a boon to the sales of the game.

I'm sorry, but I still don't believe Ashcroft said this. For one thing, this is not his area of concern...

You can't protect people from their own stupidity... and you legislate that parents take care of their kids and audit what games they're playing.

My kids don't sneeze on the computers in our house without permission, and they certainly don't install or play anything without it.

Looks like a game for REEEEELLY lonely folks... bet it's got a mouse only interface (one handed that is)... .

LOL, great post, TL!

Actually, this sequel seems kind of interesting to me. I didn't like Sims I very much. I found myself calling people over and walling them into the house to raise my kill count(counted by the number of graves). When I got about 30 graves, I got fed up. I can really show evil intentions this time!

"If your character quits smoking, it may develop physical side effects like shaking and sweating. You can counter these effects and make your character “happy” by picking up another habit like gambling, drinking and, ironically, video gaming."

If this article is true(Liquidgeneration says nothing to me), then I think I'll get this game.

What a bizarre comment. Have you ever had a "bad" one?

Erm... sadly...

Anyway, that's another story -- no permanent injuries or anything. Very funny comment, though.
