I want to know is it necessary (or even just suggested) to complete all the chapeter 3 quests before you move on to chapter 4?

It does help if u finished all the quests in Amn before going to the Underdark, but if u r planning to have Imoen in ur party I dont think u should. Coz when u meet her in Spellhold her Mage level is only 11!
So she'll only be on level 13 when u r ready to face Irenicus in Hell, which makes her quite useless.
