just a few easy questions if anyone has a chance to answer them...

1) shortly after i let anomen join the party he was slaughtered beyond raising. at the time i was so annoyed with his comments and seeming worthlessness that i just continued on and saved them game. i an well into the game now, and while i still dont care about having him in the party, im wishing with hindsight that he was still in the game. ive become a bit obsessive about herding all the npcs in the crooked crane at the gate district so i can pick and chose them when i want and make some use of magical items that i may never use. i also enjoy picking up one or two every once in awhile and walking around with them for a few days to try and active some of their quests. does anybody know of a way with shadowkeeper or another cheat to get anomen back in the game? i tried ticering with the global variables to make it seem as if he had never joined or never died permanently. (i really had him for only a little while and none of his quests had statered) but he is not back in the copper coronet after this. any suggestions?

2) relating to the above question...does anyone know if there is a amount of time a npc has to be in the party before you have the option to tell them to stay where they are dropped? so far jaheira and mazzy are the only ones that wont do this. jaheira i dont drop but i hate that i always have to run back to trademeet to pick up mazzy when i need her.

3) does anyone know why the npcs wont stay at the ranger cabin? i thought one of the purposes of the stronghold was to have your npcs stay there or meet you there. i could be wrong since this is the only stronghold i have had so i dont know for sure that this works with other strongholds.

4) im am just leaving spellhold. im guessing it will be awhile before i can go back to athkatla. will all the npcs ive left in the crooked crane still be where i left them? and this same questions goes for ToB aswell. are they all there once i move to throne of ball or do i have to find them again? and will all my stuff in the ranger cabiin stay where it is in ToB? i also have a habit of collecting all the named unique magic items i find in the game even if i dont intend to use them.

thanks for any answers!

When you get back to Athkatla in chapter 6, everyone will be there waiting for you where you left them. However, when you finish SoA and move in ToB, you can no longer access any areas in SoA (except watcher's keep). So you need to take any items you want to keep from your ranger cabin with you before you do the final battle. When you start ToB, you will be given a stronghold of sorts, where you can summon any NPC you want. They will have different items than they had in SoA, and their experience will have gone up (I think).

Yes there are CLUAConsole cheats that can create characters... though I dont know the code for Anomen Sorry.

No it is nothing to do with time.... Some NPC's just leave to a certain place when you confirm dropping them... So jaheira always goes next to the Harper building in the Docks District and Mazzy always goes back to Trademeet.

a) Im not sure why the ones that you tell to stay dont.... but that isnt one of the reasons for your SoA Stronghold sorry.
b) You can only get 1 stronghold for each type of character.... your stronghold is the cabin because you are a Ranger

thanks for any answers!

Yer going about it all wrong.

You should pick a varied party of 6 (mage, cleric, couple of fighters , maybe a theif or Valygar) and stick with them , maxing out their xp rather than shuffling them about.

The end battle is going to be a terror for you if you go in there with a low level party . Trust me , I've already tried that. I'm half way through starting over now (in the Underdark...decent party..kicking ass)

The special items you can't use because you have no char of that class, just let it lie and sell them. There are at least 3 ways to solve every seemingly impossible problem in the game. Relax if one of them is closed to you.

Your only real greif will come from insuring you have a decent thief if neither your main charactar is one nor you pick up Jan Jansen.

I solved it with Nalia / Imoen , always having a knock spell ready , and Valygar's stealth ability to cover off Hide In Shadows / Move Quietly.

I think the lack of a good thief in this is stupid on the part of the developper, considering the fact there is so much locked door and chesst that NEED to be unlocked in order to complete quests.

I've always found that mixing the party is worthwhile - try and do all the NPC quests (but you'll miss some). You don't have to worry about low levels - you get more XP once you get to spellhold when you've decided on a settled party and the NPCs are likely only one level down anyway.

thanks for all the answers! since the issue of jumping back and forth between lots of npcs has come up i will make one final comment on that. i dont think it is a wrong approach to play the game this way. i still have a main party that i use the most. many of the npcs i just pick up for a bit to play through their quest. my characters are already high level because before i ever went into chapter three by paying gaylans fee i went through most of the side quest in the game and i didnt go to spellhold until i couldnt find anymore quest to do. and you advnace levels so rapidly in the game that the party i took to spellhold have shot up levels ridicously easy. ive finished all of interplay/bioware's series of D&D games (except havent finished this one yet) on the highest difficulty setting and i would not classify these games as hard. extremely fun for sure! but not difficult. and i dont tend to play games a second time through so i am trying to get as much out of it and keep it going as long as possible the first time through. once again, thanks for all the help.
