Where to get the light crossbow??

I know, might seem stupid, but I recently got my engineering over 70 and decided to make the trippleshot crossbow. However, it seems that none of the traders sell Light Crossbow's (the final component to the 3x crossbow). I could have sworn I have come across at least a dozen up until this point, however if I have sold any of them off it would seem that they have not retained in the traders inventories. I have been to the trynnie trader in lower monastery, antone and anna in Arnika, the trader in Umpani fort as well as the T'Rang trader in lower martens bluff. I have camped for several days beside each trader, and have checked all of their stock cycles... but no cigar.

Does anybody know a way for me to get one? Assuming all the ones I have come across thus far have been sold off and hence well and truly dissolved from the game, are they any enemies that give them in random drops?

Offhand, I don't recall any light xbow drops from critters. Usually the best place in my games was Anna in Arnika. And yes, the game seems to know what you're looking for and won't show it

I recall having a hard time myself getting that third xbow when I had a gadgeteer who could make one. Typically I would save before talking to her and reload if she didn't have a light xbow to sell. However, that was the original release with only the AP patch. I think it's different with later patches, and you just have to camp and keep trying. Good luck.

Sadok and Sgt Kunar also sell them, as well as Anna.

I assume you know about the hidden one in the King Crab room?

I'm fairly sure you can do as Nightowl2 says with the latest patch as well so don't know why they are not appearing in their inventories, even after extensive camping.

The hidden bow in Monkery is near a crate a few rooms down the corridor from King Crab room towards entrance (a room with a candle?). I generally aim for Anna for bows. But she never buys them back!

In my experience you may be out of luck. Nightowl2's right, the game does seem to know what you want. I remember in my first game I had sold all my Rings of Protection becasue the other items I had were so much better. Then I find out that I need one for a certain item and I spent ages going to vendors and killing off hordes of Rattkin to try and get one.

The other problem may be that most (possibly all?) of the vendors seem to have level sensors which adjust their inventory according to your level. That means that if you're at a fairly high level the game will probably think that giving you light crossbows is a waste of time which will make them a lot rarer in vendor's inventory.
