Hi Porchmonkey!

Sorry, I'd like to help you, but I'm not very skilled with Windows, Linux is my business... But I did the following: I"ve got WizGold installed (that's Wiz7 for Windows) and looked through the folders. There's no .dll, but as I said, maybe it's somewhere I can't find it...

Suggestion: Get WizGold. It's a little bit buggy, but still very playable, you won't regret it, and it shouldnt be expensive these days (get the Wizardry Archives, Wiz1-7 including WizGold). And: Keep trying, the game's amazing... I wish you the best!

Never forget your towel, cheers
Philipp

Porchmonkey - I've still got my old Wiz 7 floppies/manual. When I get home tonight I'll try checking to see if there is a .dll file on them or if one is mentioned in the installion instructions.

I'm having the same problem getting an old DOS game to run (Betrayal at Krondor). I haven't succeeded yet. My problem is usually getting the sound and mouse to work in DOS without freeze ups. But this site looks promising for getting DOS games to work in Win (I printed it out but am waiting for when I'm in a good frame of mind to waste a few hours to get it to work):

http://geocities.com/SouthBeach/Coas.../Help/Cmem.htm

By the way, I would copy my config.sys and autoexec.bat files to another name (if they exist, do a file search to find out), just in case you need to recover them. The above doc assumes the problem is freeing up DOS memory and removing other programs from boot up, which was a definite prob with BaK.

Porchmonkey, I went through both disks as well as pulling up and looking through the batch file you are supposed to use to run it (this is from floppies, not from the Ultimate Wiz. Archives, which I also have) and there's not a .dll file in the lot. I also went through both my Wiz 7 and Wiz Gold folders loaded from the CD-ROM and didn't find any reference to a .dll file. Where are you getting an error message saying you need one and what does the message specifically say?
