how to find the bandits camp

Im trying to find the bandits camp on BG and I ran across some bandits in Larswood I believe and I killed them when I think I was supposed to express an interest in joining them which would take me to there camp. Ive gone through Peldvale also and to all the borders and cant seem to find my way to the camp as it doesnt show up on my map screen. how do I find it now?

go to feldepost's inn in Beregost. On the second floor there is a wizard named Tranzig(the same one who turned Branwen into stone). You can either kill him and take his map which has the location of the bandits camp, or you can show him mercy and he'll tell you the location anyway.
I decided to kill him for the XP and a few items

I think there is also one more way to find the bandit's camp, but I may be wrong.

But can't you just stumble across it?

I killed Tranzig for the items.

No you can not. Either Tranzig or a bandit will take you there. No other way to get in.
