What a truly wonderful game, have given up both Arcanum and POR2 to devote all my spare time to playing (and a little bit of time when I should be sleeping, too). Just wanted to say thank you to the people from Sir-Tech.

YOWZA!!
i can't believe it!!

here's something i just discovered. if ya need to go up or down a ladder, you click it.

that's all.

LOL! remember every other game you've played? hmmm??? awful, huh? even in W&W, remember? that Windmill?!?!?! how many of you gave up on even using the stoopid ladder and just jumped??? ::laughs really hard:: i know i did!

i dunno why, but every other game i play turns climbing a ladder into a bizarre and extremely dangerous activity.

::sighs:: but here, it's so... so... clean. and right!

thank you thank you thank you thank you!
::big hugs and kisses to the wonderful designers at sir-tech::

Ditto from me! Best rpg in ages. If this isn't rpg of the year (maybe game of the year) it's a crime. Nothing's hooked me this hard since the first Fallout. Every rpg has features that leave you scratching your head, going "what in the hell were they thinking?" Wizardy * has very damn few of these moments. It's as balanced, as polished, and as well-thought out as any I've ever seen.

Yep - this is truly a great game. Most fun I've had playing in a long time. And Vesselle - good point about the ladders. I was just thinking about that yesterday as I was making my way around Trynton. How nice just to click on the ladder instead of having to do some ridiculous acrobatic act to get up or down (which I usually blow and end up falling down anyway

Cheers

Oh, yes... serious "Wow!" moments in this game (as in very impressed with the interface).

For me, it was the conversation with NPCs interface! How refreshing to get a game that allows you to pick and select the words from the dialog! In the Bioware games (which are wonderful) you usually get responses to pick from based on your skills. But these are great in that you can get great hints and dialogue based upon what you say and do.

How many times have you been trying frantically to remember the name of the guy from the town two days ago? I love that you can select from a list, type directly in the box or copy and paste. Wonderful!

This game is SO addicting, too. I'm really losing points here with my wife, let me tell you! Chores are not getting done, sleep is neglected and I'm here on this forum when I SHOULD BE WORKING!

I too must add my "Wow!!!!!!!!!".

It is a pleasure to play this game! Why? Well, a few of my reasons are listed below .

I love the NPCs.... what a amusing bunch of characters! And they really are "characters"--i.e., individual personalities with quirks-- and I have enjoyed this very much. The interface for speaking with the NPCs is obviously well-crafted ... good design and well-implemented. Wonderful!

I really like the "learning by doing" aspect of character development--similar in some respects to Daggerfall's--and, again, a good design which was well-implemented. A great job!

I like the character creation system. Well-balanced. No one character can do it all ... at least in the beginning . Since I have created my party from scratch three times, I think you could say I have spent some time playing with system [maniacal laughter rings throughout the house]. I truly love that I can right-click on an attribute and get the relevant information. Very nice!

I have never played any of the Wizardry games... I tried Wizardry Gold (long ago), but I cannot bear having to click on little arrows to move.... bad, bad, evil, evil. Wizardy 8 lets me use the keyboard for movement and some other things as well . I could wish for more keyboard commands, but, at least it is apparent that they gave keyboards users more than a "passing glance" and I am truly grateful.

Okay, I have more reasons... but I am sure I have put everyone to sleep by now! So to Sir-Tech: Thank you very much! A magnificent job!!
