Serpent Temple

Can anyone give me a clue as to where I may find the Serpent Idol. I have been to the Snake pins and the chamber is flooded. When I swim around I find a tunnel But I cannot get inside. Am I looking in the wrong spot?

You're definitely in the right place. You should be able to go down the tunnel. Maybe dive down a little more so you'll fit through, or have one of your smaller characters (Pixie, Gnome, Ratling)? try to get through first; they do it easier. About halfway you'll meet the Unholy Filth. Best bet is to push him up out of the water so you don't drown and then engage him in combat. After you defeat him, swim all the way back to the small alcove. You'll see the Serpent Idol sitting there.

I'm not sure if it had any effect, but when I pulled the lever in one of the serpent pens, I could fit through. Before that I couldn't.

I was able to get in the first tunnel but not the tunnel after I kill the unholy filth. Any sugestions? Also, I tried to use my pixie to fit into the tunnel with no avail. Thanks for any help

There is a lever in one of the two snake pit rooms that needs to be pulled. I had no trouble getting through that tunnel, although there are a few other places that I found incredibly difficult to get through, sometimes taking many tries. Since reloading takes an eternity, retrying really hurts game enjoyment. I wish they woudn't make it so tricky to maneuver, there are better ways to add challenges.

There is only one item you can't get without the serpent idol; a book. You can search this forum for the contents of the book (I posted it in reply to someone else a few days ago).
