Just quit a party.

I can't even draw opponents out 1 by 1. They gang up on you as soon as they can. Combine that with mages it's a nightmare.
My fighter and barbarian had GREAT hit points (78 and 90) and in every single battles they lose hp fast.
I mean, they have some great stats, and enemiesjust don't have problems carving up my party! (Especially those Elites and worg riders)

Any suggestions to make this game more enjoyable rather than frustrating? (Not changing difficulty either)

P.s. I don't have HoF mode on.

I felt the same way in the beggining. What i did was soloed with each person in my party(kinda like traning them). I would solo wth the class i though wouldfit best in my partyand i would solo each of them till the end of the entire luskan quest.I did it with my sorc my fighters paladins druids and so forth. And since you aleady have beaten Luskan i presume it wont be a big surprise what happens during those quests.

Trust me it works i had to do this with my 3rd party as well!!!

let me guess, you're at the goblin fortress huh? I hated that place, in fact I'm stuck there right now. I had done it all once but am playing it with a new party and seem to keep dying. you should try and have atleast 2 healers in your party, I find that helps a lot. right now I have a cleric and a druid, as well as a paladin just for back=up, but then, I hate running to town.

Yes, the goblin fortress is the most frustrating part... after that the game wont be so hard...

my advice is simply rest a lot...

good ways to deafeat enemies here is use the 'sleep' spell those goblins are very vulnerable to it... also, while outside, i found a good way is to go to top of a tower and cast entangle at its base... then the enemies can only go one at a time... have your best tank or a summoned monster take them in mellee while the rest use ranged weapons... use area spells on the entangled guys

yes, i hope you know about destroying those drums to keep them from summoning more

Hit and run tactics work fine too.
Or try backstabbing with a thief hidden in the shadows - using this tactic it was no problem for me to eliminate these annoying orc shamans and witch doctors.

Can you post your entire party? I like small parties therefore I have been using the following four:

Fighter 4/Rogue X (dual short swords and bow)
Rogue 3/Monk X (fists and throwing darts)
Fighter 4/Cleric (Talos) X (mace and bow, healer and summoner)
Fighter 4/Sorceror X (quarterstaff (I think) and crossbow, mainly casts fireball and web)

I typically send my Rogue and Monk into an area to scout around. I then position them behind the toughest 2 enemies. I have them strike first and then bring in my cleric and sorceror to help finish them off. At first, I mainly used my spellcasters as ranged attackers, but then I noticed what a good melee fighter my cleric was (especially w/ this mace that I have that does added fire damage). I've had a couple tough battles with this party, but nothing has caused me more trouble than Chapter 3, which I just started. Usually, the only time I am reloading a fight is when my Monk or Thief fails to hide before I have them in position or when I use the wrong combination of spells. There were some fights in the Ice Temple (late chapter 2) that I had some problems with as well. The cool thing about my Rogue and Monk is that when I have them attack and they get swarmed with enemies, I can have my sorceror drop a fireball on them. My Rogue and Monk ususally evade the fireball spell and the enemies get toasted.

D*Ranged, it would help if you included a listing of your party.

However, I had trouble with the wardrums area my first time thru. The key is to take out the drums before doing anything else to prevent any reinforcements from showing up. The wardrums, OMHO, is meant to be an area where sneaky tactics are prefered.

Try taking out the drums with ranged weapons unseen by the enemy. If you cannot do that, try to sneak 1 or (preferably) 2 characters right up to the shaman near each drum. The shaman is responsible for banging the drum when you show up, so if you can kill a shaman quickly... no drum banging and no reinforcements.

A simple level 1 Charm Person spell works wonders in the Targos and Chapter 1. Charmed enemies may fight for you, and will certainly become targets for the enemy. (I love having the enemy killing their own.)

I kind of like the action in IWD2. Especially with one of the pre-generated parties. The spells seem to work easier than BG2. The fighting does seem a bit tougher than BG2. You have to use all your resources and know when to retreat. Don't underestimate the value of spells like color spray and sleep!

I've actually found the game to be pretty easy for the most part. But the Goblin fortress was kinda tough. These guys are correct, just rest after every fight or two and make sure you destroy the drums.

With this party:

Gold Dwarf Fighter
Drow Ranger
Tiefling Silverstar of Selune
Moon Elf Monk/Rogue
Wild Elf Sorceror

I've had to increase the difficulty to hard at the end of chapter 4! After making that increase, I fought the Banite near Kuldahar. My cleric summoned a fire elemental and it alone layed waste to 2 neo-orog marauders and the Dreadmaster himself (while 2 orogs and the wraiths were engaged with my melee characters and three other orogs were asleep)!!

Has anyone else found summonings to be this powerful?

If you like elementals, try a Gate spell. Nothing screams "HAVOC!" like a big old demon fighting on your side!!!
