So I haven't played BGII for nearly two years - been a slave to Civ3, Counterstrike and Call of Duty - but I'm back! I'm not very far in, done circus tent, slavers and a couple of other small stories and am getting it together to go off questing. Probably to Nalia's keep for some xp.

anyways, my party is...

PC: half-elf mage (keeping it simple 'til I find my feet again)
Jahera: with the right equipment, argueably the best tank in the game
Keldorn: of course.
Jan: never really used him before, Nalia is too annonying and resent investing time on Yoshimo (plus, am trying to rid myself of backstab addiction...)
and for the moment:
Minsc and Arie (sp?)

So, a couple of questions...

I seem to remember Edwin was to be found in the Copper C, idly looking around for someone to disintigrate, but I can't find him - is his appearence triggered by time? or event? or am I just looking in wrong place? I need to lose Arie and go for a less goody goody party.

talking of which, I also would like to lose Minsc, I used to use him in nearly every game and could do with a change, but who's up to the job? Is there anyone else who can use all those nice two-handed swords?

oh, BTW, this is my first post - hello...

Edwin can only be obtain by doing the Ma'Var/Renal Bloodscalp quest in the docks district. Edwin can be found on the 3rd floor of Mae'Var's guildhall in Athkatla. He will ask you to perform a couple of quests for him and upon their completion, offer to join.

Thirdly if your after someone to weild two handed swords the only people would be Minsc and Keldorn. I don't think anyone else can do it besides a PC character of course.

Two ways you can go. You could create a two person party in Multiplayer, create your PC and another PC Fighter.

Or retrain Korgan to use a two handed sword ( you can do this in shadowkeeper just take away his axes and add in two handed sword).

Hope this helps.

I don't know anyone but Minsc that uses 2 handed weapons.

I have been think about doing the multi game with two PC's. But not until I finish my current game/s. But that was a good idea to have another 2handed person to fit your plans.

Welcome to the forums!

Keldorn can use the best Two-Handed Sword in the game.

You can give the Two-Handed swords to Keldorn, and then replace Minsc with Korgan. He is just as good of a fighter, except he uses axes. He is chaotic evil, so he is most assuredly not "goody-goody", but watch out, because Keldorn will start to pick fights with Korgan and Edwin pretty fast. WELCOME TO IRONWORKS!!

thanks all, nice to be aboard...

T-D-C - thanks, yes - starting to remember this now - have forgotten so much. You wouldn't believe the schoolboy errors I'm making at the moment while trying to get back in to shape!

browns1977 - thought as much, couldn't think of anyone else (except Keldorn)

Xen - very true, even with a two year break I still remembered that one...

Brainless One - Had thought of this too and may go for it, if only to have some fun trying to keep the party from killing one another. I've used Korgan before and he's a geat fighter and character, but have been careless and seen him storm off never to return on more than one occasion...

Also, if you decide to bring Korgan, be aware that you WILL have to replace either him or Aerie eventually. Not a problem if you were planning on replacing her anyway, but it can be very annoying if it happens at the wrong time.

Another thing I'd forgotten was just how difficult it was holding together a party with greatly differing alignments - tried a few combos, but it's like herding cats...

Am going with the nice party instead. Will start another game to run alongside and go full-tilt on the evil tip - Edwin, Viconia, the works... have never played all out nasty before; should be fun...

That's the nice thing about bg2. You will get to try out another side of the game you probably haven't done before on your evil adventures. Good luck.
