Hi! I'm currently playing a solo sorcerer. Right know, he's level 13. I don't have ToB. I am confused of picking which spell of these is better compared to its twins:

Spell Sequencer or Spell Trigger (I like Spell Trigger more.)

Protection from Elements or Protection from Energy (I like the first.)

Ruby Ray of Reversal or Khelben's Wharding Whip (I prefer the second.)

Please give me opinions. Any opinions. Thank You!

Spell Sequencer or Spell Trigger (I like Spell Trigger more.)

Spell Trigger is a lvl 8 spell, Spell Sequencer lvl6. I don't quite understand your question. Of course Spell Trigger is better (three lvl6 spells) than Sequencer (3*lvl4) but since you can have both of them at a time I don't get it. For a sorcerer however I would just buy scrolls for these spells and not use slots on them.

Protection from Elements or Protection from Energy (I like the first.)

Again: PfEnergy is PfElements for ALL the elements, so it's better of course. However as both only grant 75% immunity they are both pretty useless as immunity (like with PfAcid) is what you want to go for with protection spells.

Ruby Ray of Reversal or Khelben's Wharding Whip (I prefer the second.)

I'd prefer Ruby's Ray as it gets rid of more powerful spells. KhWW does strike more times but the lower protections mostly can be taken care of with a Dispel Magic or a Breach.

Spell Trigger - Less work needed, better results.
Protection From Energy - Protection from all energy, including elemental energy.
Ruby Ray Of Reversal - I've never managed to do anything major with Khelben's Warding Whip.

Just wondering, is it possible to have Spell Sequencer as one of your 3 Level 6 spells for Spell Trigger? I've never tried it before, and it would mean that you would have 2 level 6 spells and 3 level 4 spells all cast at the same time.

Spell Sequencer is a level 7 spell.

Minor Spell Sequencers cannot be selected by other Seqeuncers/Triggers/Contingencies.

Even if it was possible (it is not) you would not get 2lv6+3lvl4 spells but 2lvl6 spells + filling up the sequencer. The already filled sequencer which is ready to fire is not listed under spells but with special abilities, so you can't get it into another sequencer/trigger. If you could get the spell into the Trigger you would end up e.g. shooting 2 flame arrows and pausing to select what you want to place in this sequencer.

So are u saying that PfEnergy is better? Btw, isn't 75% quite a good number? What would you recommend for me if I wanted to have protections from elemental damage? Should I choose a spell, or use a type of item that grants me elemental immunities? Thx.

spell sequencer and trigger are both good spells, some people like both..but overall, i'd go for spell trigger and grab another destruction spell for the seventh level. there are some good ones, or another summon spell might be what you want.

protection from elements or energy...both are great spells, and with the baldurdash patch, casting both on yourself is the way to make yourself completely immune to elemental attack...after the baldurdash patch, you can no longer cast the same spells twice on yourself and have it stack...if you don't have the baldurdash patch installed, (you should have the patch, it fixes a lot of problems with the game, install after the bioware soa patch) you can cast either spell on yourself more than once, and the protections will stack...

actually the best protection from elemental attack is mirror image...that's right, mirror image will protect you from fireballs, incindiary clouds and even ice storms...

khelbens is probably better than ruby ray...its adequate for all of soa, and realistically, you only want ruby ray for tactics mod, since a lot of enemies like to use spell immunity abjuration, so since ruby ray is abjuration and alteration, it works on them...

Thanks for your reply, but are you sure of this? Isn't mirror image is only used for fooling enemies (they never get fooled) like as the spell description sez?

To make the long story short Mirror Image will make you immune or should I say it will protect you from Area Of Effect spells.
