I'm in the planar sphere and am getting my ass kicked by the very first thing i come across, Clay Golem.
Help please!

BTW My characters are all very advanced, some up to level 19. Nearing end of game.

What exactly is the problem with the clay golem? If when you hit it it says "weapon has no effect" it's because you need to use magical blunt weapons to kill it so a say mace+1 or Warhammer+1 will work. I'm quessing that's the problem because a level 19 party should be able to kill a clay golem pretty easy.

I think any blunt weapon will do, even non-magical ones.
So go for stuff like maces, staves, etc.

Nope, gotta be magical. +1 or above blunt weapons to kill the little buggers.

Some of my characters with +2 swords hit clay golems too (and do damage) is it a bug?

LESSER Clay Golems do not need a magical weapon. Full sized Clay Golems do need a +1 magical weapon. In both cases, the weapon has to be a blunt weapon.

Minor correction.

Lesser Clay Golems, the ones that you find in Jon Irenicus' dungeon, can be hit with ANY weapon, even arrows.

Clay Golems on the other hand, require a +1 enchanted or higher BLUNT weapon.

The problem with having golems as npcs is that they are totally nonsentient. They are in fact a kind of magical robots with no mind of their own.
