Wonderful -- the prosecutor doesn't care that they were legally married in Kansas with her mother's consent, he's going to ignore that & put hubby in jail anyway. He should keep his nose out of their bedroom.

What's the age of consent in Nebraska? Can you legally marry someone under the age of consent... I don't think so, somehow.

Yep, I think the prosecutor should stay out of it; that way we can have more married and pregnant 13-year-olds.

Not that they didn't try to make the best of it, but it's not a very good situation anyway.

A man got a 13 year old pregnant.
The marriage was an after-thought.
The family's wishes do not concern the law, and he should be treated as any child molestor.

Yes, it appears that Kansas would allow the marriage, but the marriage was not the first thing that they did, was it? Therefore, it was illegal...no matter how they tried to fix things.

Question Mark

Well, since she wasn't his wife when she became pregnant he did indeed commit a crime. Lock him up.

"After the girl became pregnant, her mother gave permission in May for Koso to take the young woman to Kansas, which allows minors to get married with parental consent. The girl is now 14 and seven months pregnant.

~snip~Kansas law, however, sets no minimum marriage age, although case law sets the minimum age at 14 for boys and 12 for girls. "

Ha Timber, and you scoffed at me when I'd mentioned marriagable age in another thread.

Give the child molester the max. And the girls parents should be charged with aiding the pervert.

This is some deep in the holler West Virginia kind of stuff.

That's easy to answer.

It'll protect the child from being molested by a pervert! If you'll do it to one 13 year old, you'll do it to another, maybe even your own kid...or baby.

A man who would do this does not obey boundries, and so one's own kids are not off-limits.
