BG 3 storyline

[Lucifer Lord of demons]

So here it goes:

CHARNAME has accepted his heritage and become a god. An entire city has been built to his glory and the high deathstalker is Viconia (surprise surprise). CHARNAME has become the mightiest of the gods and wven managed to destroy Cyric.

You begin as an adept in the city of murder (lvl 1) and you are training to become a desciple of murder. (you can still be any class) So the first chapter of the game is getting accepted into the order of murder and then you get a quest to hunt down some traitors to the cause. This quest unfolds into a massive scheme to despose CHARNAME. (hint: it involves the order of lathander or helm, can't decide and some harpers) the end battle is in the high celestial planes (expect solars, planetars, adamantite dragons etc...) and in the final fight you battle alongside your god (CHARNAME) against AO himself who feels that CHARNAME is a threat to the multiverse.

In the end story you become the avatar of CHARNAME and enventually CHARNAME becomes the unique god. (BTW this is when you should start to play black and white)

So is this story alright?

Don't think so. It's centered completely around an evil PC, and that's something game-storywriters tend to avoid like the plague. It must be playable from both a good and an evil viewpoint.

If there will ever be a BG3, and the rumours are still very vague so I wouldn't bet on it yet, the story will either not have anything to do with the Bhaalspawn-saga or it will be a prequel of sorts.

There won't be a BG3, the story is over. They will just start working on another aspect of the Forgotten Realms.

Personally, I would really like to see a RPG centering around Maztica or Kara-Tur. We almost never hear about those regions.

The BG-team has stated that the intended the series to be a triology, and ToB is considered the third game. There won't be a BG3.

For future games, I would like to spend my time in Halruua, being a mage-wannabe and all

So, Luvian and Wedin, how do you explain Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance? I'm not saying that there will be a BG3, but I wouldn't be very surprised if, in the reasonably near future, another D&D-CRPG comes out carrying the title Baldur's Gate: (insert-a-mysterious-sounding-phrase-here). It would be a great marketing-trick, hitch-hiking along with the enormous success of the series, even though the only thing it really has in common with BG1/BG2 is the fact that it takes place in the Realms.

I agree with you in that the Bhaalspawn-saga has ended, as I said in my previous post, but, as I have said in that post too, this does not completely exclude the possibility of a prequel.

Now as I said, I've only heard very few rumours of BG3, and even those were more like wishful thinking of fans than real rumours, so don't get your hopes up.

Baldur's Gate is the name of a town, so any numbers of game could come out with it in the title, but it would have nothing to do with the bhallspawn saga. This one is over.

lucifer, i liked your story but maybe people would buy the product more if MAINCHAR could be an adebt of another god(a god you can choose yourself) and the main goal would be to stop bhaal from becoming too powerful. in the end, MAINCHAR would go to battle an avatar of Bhaal(not bhaal himself, because he is a god and has the power to make you a wedgie without making a move). this idea is stupid, ofcourse, because im just a fan. and its a silly thought that will never come true.BTW, what stats does lord Ao have? i think he could kill a lvl 40 fighter with just looking at him.

actually, i would mostly like to see a prequel. methinks it would be very exciting to see the lands of tethir and do quests and stuff with Khald, Jaheira and Gorion. it would also be exciting for Jaheira fans, who haven`t played the 1-st part(which means, for people, who have seen khalid only dead on a table)
