I haven't started ToB yet and I only come to this forums once in a while. Still just by looking at the titles of these threads I found...
SPOILER
'

'
'

'
'
'
...that thereis some guy named Draconis who is difficult to beat, that there's a DemoGorgon in the game, that the final battle is against a Drow Bhaalspawn. Please STOP putting spoilers in your titles!!!

Well the Demogorgon I wouldnt consider a spoiler since he IS mentioned on the box, but as for the others I completely agree with you. I'm playing ToB and Luremaster at the same time so I havent finished either. The drow one pissed me off

Pissed me off too! Feel like I should just put the game away, since it seems like I already played it

Drow bhaal spawn isn't the final boss!..... bad wording on my part. And oh gosh there is a tough character named draconis gosh who cares? I'm really pissed that I accidentally came upon so plot twists be lucky that you have only figured a few names and vague facts. I figured out the final boss and some of the larger fights accidentally not to mention some unexpected treachery and I don't care. This board contains information about the throne of bhaal upgrade you can't truthfully come on to this board and expect to see NOTHING about the game! Let me clarify I meant the final battle you have with the drow bhaal spawn not the final battle of the game! And as for the name draconis well shit man if I went on the baldurs gate 1 board and expected to not see the names sarevok, tazok, or any of the other tough battles mentioned well than I'd be a fool you only know a name it's not a damn spoiler!

OK, there are 2 sides to the story here. With a new game, spoilers are always going to be a bone of contention. Worm, I can understand how difficult it sometimes is to decide if something is a spoiler or not. Is mentioning someone's name a spoiler? Is mentioning where he is a spoiler? If you mentioned the name of an unknown enemy and didn't reveal their location in your subject title, then I agree, it's not a spoiler. Now if you mentioned the name of an ally who turns on you, and you talked about a battle with them, then I would definitely say that is a spoiler. The trick is working out whether or not someone can find out something they weren't supposed to by reading your title.

Secondly, if you are unsure of the content of your post, then put a SPOILER tag on it. Then if people still read the thread it will be their own damn fault.

Everyone just calm down a bit over this, ok? There have been a few unintentional spoilers, but nothing malicious so far. We're doing our best to catch and fix these. Just email me ASAP if you see one which is a big one. Have a thought for me: I haven't finished the game yet but I've already been spoiled beyond imagining!

No need to do that, just use a bit of commonsense, mate. You'll never be able to please everyone, but as long as you're making a genuine effort no one will be able to blame you.

I know that there are going to be spoilers in the forum, but I expect to be warned about them. The least you can do is not mention them in your titles. As for the Drow BhaalSpawn one, he may not be the final fight, but the way your title was put, it seemed as if it was, and I felt spoiled and rightly so I believe. And as far as I'm concerned, if I went into a Baldur's Gate forum when the game was released looking for information, and found a thread titled, "The final battle against the BhaalSpawn Sarevok", I would consider that a spoiler as well.

Spoilers are great, I hate surprises. But let's face it, you know the ending before you even play the game (and I havn't even looked at the box yet, it's not out in New Zealand yet so these arn't spoilers, just speculations). Become a God or renounce your godhood. Wowweee, didn't see those ones coming. Wander around in the infinity-engine based gameworld killing guys with dorky names like "cragkiller" or "Aragorn" casting spells and mercilessly clicking your mouse at things. Wow. All of these games are the same, only the basest of morons will be expecting anything completely surprising in this game (and goddam am I gonna cop some flak for using the word 'moron', but at least it gets some interesting arguments started). Anyways, don't worry about 'spoilers' guys, it's only a game.
