Help! Blind Berserker?!

Another surprise: Started a new game with a party of six selfmade characters to go all the way thru from BG1 (Tutu) to TOB. First time ever I tried a berserker. He is human(to be dualed to mage later) and... BLIND! Didn't realise it immediately though I wondered why he always stands around uselessly in fights after finishing off his direct opponent even when the group KI is on. Then I once sent him ahead alone and learnt that his sight is reduced to almost nothing, just like the effect of the blindness-spell. I have no idea about the reason for this rather annoying but mostly inconvenient fact. His equipment (boots of speed, firsthand axe+1, offhand mace+2, platemail, ring of protection+1, helmet of protection, gloves of weapon mastery, cloak of shield) does not seem to be the source. Any ideas?

Does he have a blindness spell cast on him?
If not, sounds a bit like a bug.

This is a very old BG2 problem, probably reincarnated since you are using Tutu. As told by Ares in a very old post:

-Line-of-sight bug
-
-There is a bug where the main character -suddenly cannot see any further than about 2 -ft. in front of him/her. We have figured out a -temporary solution to this bug, until a patch is -released. Simply cast one of the following spells -on your afflicted character and your line of sight -will be returned to normal:
-
-Heal (6th level cleric and druid spell, also -available at a temple)
-Neutralize poison (4th level cleric and druid -spell, also available at a temple)
-Cure disease (3rd level cleric and druid spell, -also available at a temple)
-
-This is fixed in the BG2 Patch

The BG2 Patch normally does fix it, after casting one of those spells on the afflicted, so get those if you do not already. (In the order of Official Patch then Baldurdash Fixpack) If Tutu has patches download those, since I am very unfamiliar with it but I've heard it can be pretty buggy. Anyway, good luck with that!

Cure disease did the trick. Thank you, Brainless One! I'm using the latest version of Tutu and the patches for LotSC and ToB. Funny this bug happens now after playing several games with Tutu already.
