I played BG1 a LONG time ago (like three or four years ago) and was totally horrible at it. Now I've come back after playing some of the more difficult RPG's and am remembering snipits of my last play. I seem to remember... hmm... hobgoblins... a big ol dungeon underwater?? Somehow freeing a lot of people... uh... detonating something, like a time-bomb. I seem to remember the location where this dungeon exists, it was on the field just east of Candlekeep where Gorion dies y-axis and on the ahnkeg farmland x-axis. For some reason I can't get there, it's just blank on my map. I'm pretty sure I'm able to enter Baldur's Gate afterwards for the fact that it's the final bandit post or something. Right now I'm in chapter two, is that dungeon much later or something or am I just totally mistaken or what?
Off subject but I just heard that california is going to plum run out of power for an hour and a half tonight! Really very amazing, I'm almost eager to see what is going to happen in the future... |

I have almost completed BG1 and dont remember any underground dungeon (or underwater, or a timebomb). If there is, I too would like to know about it couse I totally overlooked it, witch would'nt be surprising in this game!
P.S. Have you ever seen Escape from LA? Kinda cheesy movie, but the end is very cool in respect to losing electricity! I agree that the future may hold alot of interesting things for us, and I'me anxious to get started. |

I think you're probably referring to the underground mines in Chpt 4. That will explain all the 'water' and 'freeing a lot of people' stuff. The mines are located in the Cloakwood Forest (roughly NW of the Friendly Arm Inn), which you can only access after Chpt 3. Happy adventurin' !!

Yeah, thats where it is exactly, the mines, the river being able to flood the mines was the underwater feeling and the people i thought i was trying to save were actually dwarves, my bad, but they are the dwarven mines so... and the bomb SORTA sounds like the gush of water sounds when the plug opens... mann the cloakwood forest was annoying... oh well, thanks mir_ror!
