chests wont open!!answer quick plz

In the Iron throne area in cloakwood i just beat daervon and ALL the chests in there wont open, my ranger with 18/00 strength cant even bash them open, how do i open them and whats in them? is there anything good?

Have you tried using some potions (mster thievery for example) with your thief ?? Ive never had a problem picking those locks... otherwise it might be some kind of bug, tell us again if you cant pick those locks

That's a definite bug--I know for a fact that all 3 of them open. Two of them are locked, but you only need about 75% Locks to open them, and the third isn't locked at all. Try reloading.

My own theory about the chests that ARE completely unpickable is that when they wrote the game, BioWare gave each lock a number from 1-100, that being its 'difficulty' rating. But some locks got overlooked, and rather than going back in and assigning Lockpick odds, BioWare simply tossed in the message that "This lock does not open normally.....etc."
I wonder if some of the "missing" items, like the Helmet of Charm Protection and The Root of the Problem, are behind those unpickable locks?

But all locks with the message "This lock doesn´t..." are supposed to open with a key ot other special item, or am I wrong with this?

In the main, yes they should open with some other form of key/lever etc. Such isn't always the case however, and I think that the odd bug or three has crept in. Have you tried a Knock spell at all )V(ajin l3uu ?

To the best of my knowledge, there's only one lock that actually requires a key (it will not open for anything except that key), and that's in Durlag's Tower. The bugged chests that can't be picked cannot be opened by ANY means, including Knock or bashing it with a STR of 25--but none of these unopenable chests are in the Cloakwood Mines, at least in my copy of the game. (I think there's some variation in which chests or bugged--there's one chest in the Duchal Palace that I can't get open for love or money, but other folks can.)
