- You can kill Firebeard Elvenhair, heŽs worth 2700 xp and some gold and items, though you will lose reputation. The silly thing about it is that even if you kill him, he will still appear in Beregost, and by completing his quest you can get back some rep .

Not really, heŽs a mage... he will cast some annoying spells on you. Id recommend completing every candlekeep quest and errands first to get some potions and money. Anyway, there is a weird bug in the game that will make any mage or cleric VERY EASY

- When they are about to cast a spell (i mean they have started casting it and are about to finish the casting), hit pause and they will stop. Just cheesy, but works. you have to be careful with the timing, youŽll get the trick after you practise a bit. But dont use it a lot in the game, it will make it too easy.

Nope, only those who see you fighting inside the bar will become hostile, and if you do it well, even the bartender will remain neutral.

Try Paladin, they have Lay on Hands (won't heal much but it's something) and they use heavy armor and weapons. I didn't kill Firebead though, he's a good guy and I'm a good guy so I really didn't think it was very nice. Killing him is TOTALLY out of character for a paladin though and it'll lower your reputation to the point that, if you go any lower you'll lose Paladin status.

You might also try to be a thief or thief hybrid and backstab first thing to get 1 really powerful hit in right away (Fighter/Thief or Fighter/Mage/Thief would probably be the best bet) to weaken him and then hack away at him (or cast a spell if you have it and then hack).

The last thing is to try and try again. If you lose, reload and try again, that's the only reason I ever beat this game .
