Chapter Forty-Five: The Big Bad

Awaking in Hell wasn't pleasant. There was a giant door in front of us that couldn't be opened as well.

So we investigated. Five sets of stairs. We took the first set left of the door. Downstairs, we were greeted by Sarevok! Why must my older brother haunt me so!? He started yelling at me about how I was obviously Baal's favorite, and so was Imoen, and how we got all of the good toys at Winter Solstice. Will he ever shut up about toys?

Then he yelled at me for stealing his sword of Chaos. Sarevok said I'd never get the Tear of Bhaal to open the door! Tears of Bhaal? Apparently Bhaal used to be a big crybaby. Sarevok then told me to transform into the Slayer.

I did make it a point to point out that Bhaal's supposedly most powerful avatar was a two foot tall pink elephant with pixie wings. He didn't believe me, then attacked me after I commented that he should start wearing pink armor from now on!

The fight was short, as I had a new skill up my sleeve. Assassination, which is sort of like backstabbing but without needing to backstab

One tear down.

Then we headed to the second staircase where a demon gave us a nice-looking sword. How we used it was up to us. There was a Djinn trapped at the end of the hall. Twas the same Djinn again from Irenicus's Chateau! He always seems to be getting trapped. He gave us a poem so in payment I gave him the sword. With that he was free, and another Tear was given.

The third staircase Minsc was abducted and I had to go through the left passage to sacrifice of myself or the right to sacrifice Minsc. I chose the left and lost some health and experience. But we got Minsc back and a tear in return.

The fourth staircase we were offered a Nymph's Cloak to ward off fear. Twas the tackiest thing Sola had ever seen so he bade me to decline it. So I did, and my fear didn't conquer me! Another tear!

Aerie relived her glory days as the Godess of Beholders by wearing Balduran's shield again in front of some beholders

Then the fifth staircase we had to fight a dragon! Not a difficult task, surprisingly, but poor Aerie nearly died.

After this we rested before the door. And since I didn't know what was behind the door I set traps all over the place! After using the Tears to open the door, we were literally blown back a few feet! Out of nowhere, Irenicus appears, to which I comment "Look who's come out to play!"

Then Irenicus summons 4 Demons, turns into a Slayer, and battle commences! Aerie, Sola, and Imoen fired off all of their contingencies and the demons were first to fall as we attacked. Irenicus proved harder, though.

He kept casting good immunity spells and our mages were fast running out of spells to dispel those protections! However, my traps kept taking chunks out of Irenicus Finally, Irenicus ran out of protections and I Whirlwind Attacked him! After that, I started to Greater Whirlwind the pesky mage! Then I noticed something...I was the only one attacking.

Finally Imoen said this to me: "Jerr, you can stop now, Irenicus is in five pieces now!"

"Sorry, Immy! Got a little carried away I did..."

Jaheira slapped me upside the back of my head because I hadn't allowed her to use her new staff on Irenicus in ways that'd make Volo blush. Then I felt my sould restore and I blacked out.

To awaken to everyone looking down at me, Ellisime included. She never thought I'd survive that coma.

She held a nice ceremony for us, proclaiming us heroes. And as if we all had the same thing on mind, we decided to tribute Irenicus's defeat with...

THE MACARENA!
