This statement is doubtlessly true, but I wouldn't limit it to the Republicans.

As far as Rush being an official, unpaid adviser to Bush/Cheney, it is just too funny that that has been taken seriously. Would we believe anything pro Bush/Cheney from Rush's site, much less post it here?

Like I said He is just an entertainer nothing more. Nothing Rush says should be taken seriously.

Well, if he didn't make it an issue, 96% of the time, he wouldn't be under fire over it, and I wouldn't make snide comments about his constant mention.

If the Rush thing is a joke, it sure fooled me. It's too close to the truth for me to have picked that up. Bush did, after all, go on Rush's show to defend his 'mistake' when he said that the war on terror is unwinnable (or whatever specifically)

Besides, an association with Rush wouldn't be pro-whoever was associating with him lol. It'd be an ugly mark against them for anyone but a dittohead.

Actually, now that I look back on it, nothing but the CAR info on what he *plans* to do really speaks to anything at all. It's all a lot of that meaningless diatribe and mantra you've been picking up off of NRO.com. You do know that rots your brain, don't you?
What will rot your brain is only exploring ideas that agree with your own. By looking at many points of view and learning from them you can present an articulate argument and by doing this your arguments will not be so easy to dismiss. Original thoughs and ideas are taken more seriously than just parroting propaganda.

The resort to bashing (in)famous liberal, and repeating unproven mantra (e.g. democrats give away more money, democrats want to destroy the army, etc.). This is a style of argument that was beneath Ron Reagan, but we have it thanks to Rush Limbaugh. It is pop culture evolving before your eyes. Make note of it, it will be in the history books one day.
Stereotype much?

Contrary to the belief of some, Canada is not part of the United States. I am from Canada, which does not, to my knowledge, have a party of Republicans or Democrats.

That is what I meant, that if it had been something positive it would not have made it here unless a dittohead posted it. Most people would doubt that the sky was blue if they heard Rush say it, but they would glad to accept as gospel the idea that he is an official, unpaid advisor simply because he says it tongue in cheek.

I myself, though I occassionally listen to Rush, do not consider myself a dittohead. I'm more of a Whopper Head! (Seen those new BK commercials )

Doubtlessly true. This was in fact my point as well.

Again, we certainly agree. To the extent such a thing as an original thought even exists, of course. In fact, I'm rather offended you don't find a bit of at least psuedo-originality in my arguments. Damndamndamndamndamn.

Yeah, I do. Look, I had a good bead on having what I thought was one of those original thoughts you mentioned, and I wasn't about to let the fact you're from Canada stop me from trying to identify something I think may be a trait in the party's personality. So, I went Gung-ho with it. Sorry it was on your dime -- chalk it up to collateral damage.

That doesn't mean you can't be one. We have Nazis and communists in this country.

Oh, and when did Canada secede? What will become of your NHL teams now?

I got what you meant Ronn, I was just admitting to being one of the guilty parties of taking that crap seriously lol.

No worries. It is the kind of trap we all set ourselves up for and manage to fall into from time to time.

It happens to me regarding Michael Moore all the time.

I'm lucky though because most of that stuff is true.... sorry I couldn't resist.
