natural family planning is a method that uses signs from the womans body to determine fertility. it is VERY effective when used properly. when taught improperly it does not work so well, morgie and i being an example of improper use and education.

the signs fromt he woman's body includes basal body temperature (usually taken before she gets out of bed in the morning.) when the basal body temp is elevated she is most likely fertile. some couple rely on bbt for NFP. there is also CM (cervical mucus) which is prolly TMI to describe here on a family friendly forum. either wayt he best and most accurate method is to use bbt and cm hand in hand. and of course being taught by people trained in NFP as well as experienced in using it in their own marriage. always a good idea to ask an expert before practicing.
