The man-bear looked about the room, amused there should be such a throng of merrymaking folk. The prospect of making new friends always excited him. As his eyes met the smiling face of the woman with the twinkling amber eyes, he felt a definite throb in his heart. No woman in his tribe was even half as beautiful... KayLisa also felt a strange attraction for the bear-of-a-man; she wondered if she should use her amulet on him as well, and learn about his past...

Creden the halfling thief looked up from the dagger and studied the giant from one side. Was this man carrying any treasure? What would the torc he wore about his neck be worth? The terrible itch which could only be relieved through picking pockets assailed Creden's fingers again. Yet there was also something else about the giant that captivated him: his size, the magnificently scupted figure, the handsome, bearded face... What was it Creden felt as he gazed upon the man-bear? At length he identified the emotion. It was envy. How he had always wished he could be like this giant -- tall, powerful, looking down on others instead of letting others look down on him... Oh, what wouldn't he give to realise this impossible dream!

But then he became aware of yet another presence in the tavern -- a dark, brooding presence. The one and only time he had this sensation before was when he ventured into the underground laboratory of a necromancer for booty, and an uncomfortable chill ran up his spine. Looking around to determine the source of that dark aura, he caught sight of a sorcerer swarthed in black with orange trimmings. Involuntarily, he dashed to the barbarian and leaned against him as if for protection, much to the great man's surprise...

She starts to give a description of the bladesinger she is looking for, when two people distract her......"hmm....what an unusual looking human..." She watches the bear-man, wondering if he is of use to her, and eyes the one called Neb, watching him closely....
Turning her attention back to the halfling, she notices his keen interest in her dagger..."I don't think so, dear", she nonchalantly conceals the dagger, drawing out an ancient amulet, and lays it on the table in front of them, still watching the rest of the room....

"Hey, li'l friend," said the barbarian, "Wat s'a matter? Whyya leanin' 'gainst me like dat? Scared o' sumthin'?"

Creden was momentarily speechless with embarrassment, but pointed towards the dark, malevolent-looking figure. Zang-Gief turned to look, then grinned and patted the halfling on the back.

"No fear, mate," commented the man-bear. "I'm sure if ya leave him alone, he'll leave ya alone."

She eyes the sorcerer, recognizing the colors he wears, and frowns, thinking........"Why is he this far from home?" she mutters under her breath, and keeps a careful eye on him, drawing her hood back over her head, hiding her face....

OOC: No offense, friend, but would you mind leaving the inner feelings and actions of my characters to me in the future?

Somewhat embarrased at the strange feelings that overcame him, Creden walks back to the table and sits down again, trying to keep his poker-face intact. He had been used to feeling fear all his life, which is inevitable if you are so small, with hardly any strength in your arms, and yet make a profession of taking other peoples' possessions. But yet he had never given in to this fear, instead relying on his wits and bluff to keep himself out of trouble. He was puzzled as to what caused this moment of weakness, and suspected that the source was magical, some sort of aura surrounding the mysterious sorcerer maybe.

An Elf suddenly appears in the middle of the room, and enjoys the look of surprise coming from the bartender... he draws a quaterstaff, which bends in with his leaf armour, and swings it around a few times, faster then anyone can see... his blond hair shimering in the light, he speaks to those around him... "I am Sultair, Heir to Merlin. I dwell in the cities of Arepea and Jeesee. I come to this establishment in search of an opponent who doesnt give up in the middle of combat, with some excuse such as 'Im bored'... is there any such person in here ??"

The sorcerer sat in the dark corner didn't even looku up, but silently appraised this elf in his mind, then making his mind up, he decided he was thirsty, so took another swig of the powerful drink in his bottle.
Noticing the halflings reaction to him, the sorcerer was unsurprised, he had that effect on some, and he knew his aura radiated something chaotic and abnormal that naturally deterred many.
Once again, he stayed with his own thoughts and went back to drinking.

Talthyrs attention swung briefly to the barbarian, and looked at him steadily, wondering whether anything would happen, good or bad, between the hulking brute and the arrogant elf mage.
