<font color=plum>The gas didn't affect him in the movie because he can hold his breath for close to an hour - due to the size of his lungs. Even when he was portrayed as a "dumb brute" in the comics (all the way through the 70's), he still had an incredible instinct for survival.

He IS hard to beat because he is one of the strongest characters ever created. And his strength keeps increasing when he gets angry. However, as we saw in the movie, there ARE ways to offset that awesome strength. Capturing him in the foam is a perfect example.

There are only a few characters that are in Hulk's class when it comes to natural strength. Thor, Wonder Man, Superman, Sasquatch are the only ones that come to mind off the top of my head.

But Wolverine has gone toe-to-toe with Hulk on more than one occasion and come away the "victor".</font>

Wolverine vs. Spiderman? IMO, Spidey's got the edge in speed, agility, a spider-sense to warn him of surprise attacks, and the ability to attack from afar by web-shooting.

I reckon in a street fight between soccer and gridiron players, the soccer guys just have to stay out of the way for a couple of minutes and wait for all the pumped-up steroid abusing gridiron ogres to collapse from caridac arrests.

Besides, get the gridiron players out of their girly body armour and helmets and then we'll see how tough they really are!

I mostly put that in there to see how us North Americans would defend football and you Europeans would defend Soccer. They don't go to the bench right after a play, though. They have to go off more often because they're being pounded into the ground by 350 pound behemoths. [img]tongue.gif[/img] I personally don't like either. Go Rugby!
