Maybe I should highlight the part where it says it Sets the user's Magic Resistance to 0%. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

As for save penalties, I am trying to make this weapon usable. To that extent, I have to try and not scare the player too much from using it. The danger is there, yes, but it is a very random danger. It is russian roulette with a 100-chamber revolver... ...

[/QUOTE] Sure I can do that, just zip them in one pick package and were set.. though much of the newly released items still haven't seen the light of day.

If their are enough items, I can with the help of my good friend Vedran ofcorse (I will not abandon you! [img]graemlins/hehe.gif[/img] ) raise up a site with all the IW custom items and in the near future make it a IW custom item pack.

Not really....Korgan, for instance, can use this weapon with near-total impunity. Sure, he'll take a pittance of damage from the Finger of Death every now & then, and he'll get Mazed just like anyone else, but that's only a problem if he was acting as a blocker for your weaker members at that specific moment. (And he's got a good INT, so he should be back pretty soon anyway.)

The only real drawbacks are the chance of losing items through the Disintegrate & Flesh to Stone, and the total negation of Magic Resistance, which would only be a barrier to people like Viconia or a Wizard Slayer.

C'mon, ladies and gentlemen, let's be honest. How many of us actually use new items outside WeiDU and Forgotten Wars mods?

Make a storekeeper, Weimerize it, and petition (beg...plead...) Weimer to host it with the rest of the mods. If we can have people write wonderful item texts, I'm sure someone can script Chocolate's dialogue. Now all I need is a way to add text to a storekeeper...

At 4 attacks per round, and each attack having a 3% chance of Doom and/or Greater Malison, that's a 12% chance per round of screwing up your Saves, and since Doom and GM both last for a while, and since hostile Greater Malison stacks, a Tank using this weapon will get his ass kicked just from the Save penalties, not from the spells that were supposed to be the drawbacks.

If it were a Staff, however, most Tanks would quietly pass it by. (It'd still be used by Kensai->Mages, though, but they usually have some Magic Resistance to be negated, so the weapon would be used as it was intended--as a gamble.)

Either that, or just write some versions of Finger of Death, Disintegrate, and Flesh to Stone that don't allow Saves.

I have been tinkering with the Shopkeeper creation but... its much harder then I have expected, does anybody from IW have experience in creating a custom shopkeeper (Choc, The IronWorking Smith)?

Good idea Pirengle, if Weimer is willing to link/host our Custom Shopkeeper (+Items ofcorse) then that would be great.. if it is weimerized; even better so it won't have conflicts with other great WeiDU mods.

But until then.. there isn't a shop and there aren't that many items (Mie counts 10 a 12 custom items, something like that), we need a script and a shop (dialog is pretty much easy, though how to put it in the shop/game is gonna be harder).

Anybody here that can provide help with this matter?

I do actually want to tempt people to use it... you know? [img]tongue.gif[/img] If I made it too deadly, no sane person would want to use it... it would just become another useless trinket in the game.

Custom items are supposed to entice people to use them, but not overpower them.
