Alright, I'll admit the Robe of Vecna is pretty good. It's casting time bonus is it's only plus though, because of it, the spell pause is even longer. But if you get Improved Alacrity along with the Robe of Vecna in a period of Time Stop, you could throw out spells instantly and wipe out any bad guy in the game. Now that would make a mage indestructable

Mages can wear that drow armor, but you can only have it (without cheating or using bugs) in the underdark.
