That is kind of strange! Do you listen to it regularly or is it just Sephiroth validating his being in your head?

LOL No. The only outside noises I ever hear are the passing of cars and trains.
I know a lot more pass by than I ever hear...esp the trains, I only hear them at night but they go by a little over a block away from here regularly all day.

No, I never literally hear it as if it is playing by itself that way, it is just melodies that "play inside my head" when I am not thinking about anything. I don't really know how to explain it. Rex's mother says she is that way too but she always recognizes the music she "hears"...like songs or pieces of songs replaying themselves over and over again.

LOL! Don't you even dare plant the seeds for having hair band music start up in my brain! I have been thoroughly enjoying Tina Turner's "River Deep Mountain High" for a few days now.

You want to know what tripped me out completely though? Not so long ago, I woke up and the Grinch song was playing itself in my head! (He's a mean one, Mr Grinch...) talk about freaking! I haven't seen that cartoon in almost a decade and never saw the movie! That day was kid of scary because no matter what music I put on to get rid of it, it would still be there when there was quiet again.
Finally I started disecting my memory for any significance of the tune and as soon as I remembered watching the cartoon with my dad and how much he enjoyed it with us (and the games he would play with us afterward like whapping us with christmas paper wrap rolls in the dark) it quit.
My dad passed away last year and I want to think it was just him touching bases with me because I haven't heard it since but ever since that day, I do get pieces of music that I associate with him and they stop as soon as I acknolwedge the memories I associate with him and the music combined...mostly tunes from the Disney movies at the drive-in that he took us to when I was really little and 70's music that he liked when I was the only child of his that lived in his house with him.

Me too, Moni. Mostly, it tends to be one piece of music, repeated over and over. It's hideous when it's a TV commercial jingle, but most of the time it's a piece of music I like.
That's how Rex's mother describes her experiences with it.
Sometimes I do recognize the tune (like Tina Turner) but a lot of times I don't, it is just rhythmic melodies, sometimes symphonic, sometimes more what I would call "tribal".
I don't play the piano, but I do have a talent for playing some simpler instruments by ear. I also used to be a drummer, playing along with 60's popular music when I was a kid. I no longer remember how to read music...perhaps I should refresh my memory so I can write it out and see what is in there.

I know what you mean. In an idle moment during a car journey, or when I am sitting at my keyboard thinking about the next passage I am going to type, little ditties will start to go off in my head. These are tunes that I imagine and that fit my mood at the time, but they aren't anything I've ever heard before. I guess that's how some composers get their original ideas, by elaborating on these sparks and feelings.

That's one of the great frustrations in my life, because I have no musical aptitude, so if I make any attempt to put the music I'm imagining into something tangible it all goes horribly wrong and seems to slip away kinda like a forgotten dream.

It seems especially intense when I'm in solitude, like out walking on Dartmoor (a huge expanse of wild moor land, literally on my doorstep), but like you say it's sort of always there.

So, no, I don't think you're nuts at all Moni.

I look on it as a gift.
Thank you!
Yes, I wonder if I had ever learned to play the piano or if I could write music as I hear it just what it would all sound like when played from start to finish since it just seems to go on and blends from one piece to another as I go about my idle business.
When in solitude is when I am most attune to it as well since there are no outside distractions to lure my attention away.
I wonder how, with no musical outlet how people like you and myself could preserve some of the prettier tunes we eminate or if it is just meant to be heard not just by ourselves but also by those who watch over us?
Hey! Maybe they are the ones playing it?!

Oh great guys! I had finally gotten rid of it until I read this post.

Hmmm. I might be able to get rid of it! I'll just have to think of what Brian Bointano would do!

That'll do it! It's easy Mmmkay!

Soundtrack? My life plays itself out like a movie (I'm such a TV junkie)..
When I'm sad, I hear sad songs playing themselves out in my head. When I'm walking in the streets having fun I hear "have fun go mad..have fun go mad.."

Sometimes I find that moments in your life like major turning points or emotional events, or great excitement cause me to be just..drowned out and engulfed by music.. Its my subconcious saying that these events are too important to be without accompanying music! Like a silent scene doesnt have as much impact as a scene with a full symphony behind it..and so thats how my life is..always melodramatic

actually moni, i think its both! i listen to it a LOT(its at the top of my playlist), and it is proof that Sephiroth inhabits me. of course, when it mixes with other songs i listen to frequently, it becomes annoying and then i have to sort out which song is which... but mostly its OWA!

------------------
It's simple. Once the Planet is hurt, it gathers Spirit Energy to heal the injury. The amount of energy gathered depends on the size of the injury...What would happen if there was an injury that threatened the very life of the Planet? Think how much energy would be gathered! Ha, ha, ha. And at the center of that injury, wil be me. All that boundless energy will be mine. By merging with the energy of the Planet, I will be come a new life form, a new existence. Melding with the Planet, I will cease to exist as I am now. Only to be reborn as a 'God' to rule over every living soul.

Hey Moni,
What's worse about all this is this morning in the shower, I couldn't get rid of the tune:
"Do your ears hang low,
Do they wobble to and fro,
Can you tie 'em in a knot?
Can you tie 'em in a bow?" etcetera. It kept repeating and repeating and repeating. Ack!!
If I've got to have a soundtrack in my head, why can't I change the music more easily??? Hmmm, maybe I should start humming the Grinch song instead (at least that's more fun).
