I hate it that my mind works like this sometimes, but I was raised to NEVER believe anything you are told or read in instances like this. Question everything that is reported, especially by the 'enemy'. Propaganda runs rampant on both sides in war. I wouldn't put it past the Taliban to kill lots of people themselves just to say that WE did it. This kind of thing has happened in other wars, so I expect it to happen here.

i completely agree to what dragon mage says never believe everything you hear for it may fool you , control you and "something" you. lol!

i have a curious (rather criticism) statement on why do these UN workers would like to be there in the country that is going to war and its people ready to kill you because you are on the opposite side yet you are there doing (rather with) a MINING DISPOSAL UNIT?? i mean, dont they have common sense or they are passionate on what they are doing? there is a saying "passion rules reason" and that can be very dangerous...

250 Lets agree to disagree yes?

And Harkoliar remember it works both ways, in every way the US is using Patriotism as a tool to wield just as the Taliban are. For different purposes maybe but the idea is the same.
And yes I know it is possible that the news is false but you have to also admit that the possibility exists that it is true. You cannot accept everything to be false simply because it sounds suspect.

Sorry if that sounds harsh but blaming the deaths of the innocents and UN workers on the Taliban sounds IMO is gutless and not admitting that it most probably is the US airstrikes which are to blame. Sorry DM but remember the Taliban are not the only ones who can twist facts. But hey I could be wrong. But your cyansism seems very unrealistic.
This is NOT a flame
I don't take it as a flame as I am WELL aware that BOTH sides will twist facts to suit their own ends. I do not go around with my head in the sand towards my country's motivations and actions. That's why, when I stated my first post, I said it might sound paranoid. But you must understand that in all the major wars we have ever had (WWI, WWII, Vietnam), ALL parties twisted facts and put forth propaganda. I know that the UN members might well have died due to US bombs. HOWEVER, one still has to realize that the Taliban has every motivation to kill innocent people and say it was due to our actions. It is not unheard of and the Taliban has already been exposed as ruthless and vicious to their 'own people' in their means to achieve their desired ends.

All I want is for people to question what is reported. Understand that, not only do they have REASON to lie, they have opportunity - just as much as we might. I also was raised by a man who fought in the Vietnam conflict - hence the cynicism. He was front-line, first hand to see the TRUTH. Whole villages killed and burned by the North Vietnamese, yet they reported it was the Americans who did it. The people were already dead when my father's unit (the first of our forces to arrive on scene) got there. All I'm saying is, take EVERY report - no matter who from - with a grain of salt. I don't take any reports like this for ABSOLUTE truth until I see some facts to back it up. And even then, 'proof' can be manufactured.

Edit: Sheesh all the posts that came in whilst I typed away! Sorry if this duplicates some of your posts.

it is a punishment we are delivery to the Taliban government for harboring terrorism, and a death sentence to Osama Bin Laden

War is not the correct term but punishment is? Are the people who have no involvement with Bin Laden to be punished just the same? Because that is what is happening.
Just another point to some others here.
It might be good to sit on your computer and say that some civilan casualties are acceptable in the course of this "punishment" but could you say that if you were faced with the families of those innocents killed?

Cynicism works in circles. How do you know that the US really killed those workers by accident but want people to believe that the Taliban were responsible and are blaming US strikes? Or are the US giving an image of false deception? Hmmmm...

Believe none of what you read and only half of what you see and hear.

Oh it's OK, my post wasn't really directed at you because I know that our views are not too far apart! But you know me, I have to get in on the debate.
