The main Characters are becoming artificial and archetypal and reading the 5th book of the series had me really annoyed.

does anyone really believe in that Jagang fellow being a threat? I mean he can't possess 2 person at the same time right or 3 person. Why don't 3 of those dark sisters gang up on him without linking their power? Sorry I can't see him as a believable villian. The fact seems that Terry Goodkinds strategy is to write scenarios of women ravished to make us feel outraged against the villians and it is becoming stale for me. The series also seems to have many loopholes in it.

Regarding the book I can't really say I hate it as I did indicate that i will get the book where Richard rahl croaks. God knows there are many worse books out there.

I agree with some of those points, especially the loopholes. The capture of Richard and all the main characters being unable to stay close together for a longer period of time return a bit too often.
The characters are indeed also becoming more and more artificial as you read farther into the series. The sixth book, Faith of the Fallen, is one of my favourite books in the series (along with the first, Wizard's First Rule) and makes up for a lot.
As for the history, you get to read it in such a way that it seems to be made up at the spot. If you reread the series, however, you'll see that there have already been references to that particular it of history, even though you could not recognise it as such the first time through.

As for Jagang, he may only be able to control one person at a time, but the way Goodkind explains it it would seem that he can control one person after another and hurt them in real quick order. Additionally, he seems to have everyone so afraid of him they wouldn't think of trying anything, and he can read their thoughts. On top of that, he's a rather big and imposing figure, not fully dependant on his unique magic.

Personally, I'm more than willing to overlook the minor flaws, as he more than makes up for it with his style of writing. Besides, if it was the perfect fantasy book it would make all others seem bad, and that would really be a waste
Still, it's a matter of taste. As long as you enjoy reading it doesn't really matter what you like slightly better than the rest
