Actually, I just have the bow and energy arrows to take out trapped doors and chests. Other than that, don't plan to use it much. Just don't want to have to open inventory each and every time I run across a trapped door or chest. Untrapped chests and doors get demolished with my bare hands.

and oh yes don't forget monks are the master of defense.

if you think 44 ac is good. (druid with heavy armor feat plus bunch of other ac enchanceing items)

wait untill you see the monk, i did some test, aka droup all of the best dex, wis, and ac buffing items, and guess what. i managed to get my monk to 54 ac, then i glugged a couple of home made greater pot of dex buffing and wis buffing thus boosting my ac to 60. YES SIXY AC!

and consder my druid with 44 ac, only the mightest mosters really had any chance of puting her down, aka dragons, morag and couple of others, and they mainly killed her with magic after her spell resist spell which buffed her magic resistance to 32 i belive expired. then they killed her with spells but untill then she was night invulterable and only had 140 hp to boot.

monk has natural ac bonus, plus their dex bonus, and wisdom bonus. what i did was pick a halfing or a elven and put all my point into dex, bringing it to 20, and wisdom to 17, and one point in str or con. low hp and low str yes. my halfing had -2 damage from her 6 str but her sheer rate of attack made up for it and consder monk fist at 20 is a 1d20 weapon. or in the halfing case 2d6 weapon. because halfing was smaller so the str pentality hurted her more than the elven one, but then again the halfing had 60 ac, and 160 hp maxed out, with toughness feat and +8 hp a level. she had -1 bonus to con so toughness +1 made up for that.

elven however has like -2 to con so toughness make up only +1 so +7 hp a level for a total of about 140 hp maxed out.

yes monk got crappy hp esp extreme Ac templete like those two above but if your enemy cannot hit u then u don't need the hitpoint, yes on a roll of 20 they can but if u slap on like the greater sword or bludgon or arrow belt theyre 20/- off any damage so... have to hurt u more than 20 point to hurt u heh then stack on top of that if u have a friendly mage or a clerc who buff you.... monks are night invulterable basically.

don't forget their magic resist, 30 at level 20.

Hrm My human monk has over 200 hp at lvl 20,
14 const modified to 16, toughness for a +80. 80+[100-160] yeilds [180-240]
but a much lower ac like 40 or so. Stats were
s15(20),d19(21),c14(16),w17(23),int10(12),ch10(10) if I put on boots of striding +5 I think I got 40 extra hp.

Now I am playing a very difficult char.

Figher/thief modeled after gord the rogue. Uses shortsword and dagger and wears leather armor, he is having a tough time of it right now... chert is doing all the work.
