iirc, there is only one giantkin then, it seems strange that they put this hammer in for only one monster, that can be avoided completely. i think it must be used against orgres and golems, pretty much creatures that are bigger than you are.

But golems aren't giantkin. They're golems... I'll actually be mad if it does give bonuses against golems; it's just not right.

Repeating myself:

From monster manual: giants, ettins, trolls and ogres (even more, but I do not think they are in the game)

Thus timothy it works on Ogres.

Golems fall under constructs. Like all animated objects. See also the monster manual

Kneecapper? It works on Adamantium and Iron Golems.

To clarify, though, it "works" on pretty much anything short of Anath, meaning it can hit creatures that require +1 or better to hit, +2 or better to hit, +3 or better to hit, & +4 or better to hit.

*But*, it only gets +4 to THAC0 & +4 to damage vs. Giants & Giant-kin, which, depending on who you ask, is either Giants & Ettins -or- Giants & Ettins & Ogres & Trolls. It only gets +1 to THAC0 & damage vs. all other creatures.

I don't know the answer as far as what the game considers Giant-kin, but I do know that it can hit, for example, Fire Elementals (which require +2 or better to hit), even though it only gets +1 THAC0 & +1 damage while doing so.

Hmm, but whhy does it work against Iron and Adamantium Golems if it's only +1-2? Cause only +3 and above are supposed to hurt them.
