Unless they changed it later, the effect vs fireball was one of the things that make it a super spell. I mean, the fireball is going to hit the mage no matter how many images are confused his enemies. Forget if they changed this in BG2.

It fairs well against Magic Missile, as it will take most of the hits sent at you, without you getting hurt.

I don't know about best defensive spell in the game, I have to say, I luv Chant and the like. It lets you take far less damage.

Its a bit uncharacteristic though- untill the images are gone whoever is attacking will always hit the wrong one.

I agree, you should get a 1 in 5 chance to start off with then 1 in 4 etc...

>That's basically how they changed the spell for SoA. It'll give you a chance to hit the real mage. Don't think that chance increases as more images dissappear though.
