I thought all charisma checks were based upon the charisma of the party leader? You know, like when you go to merchants, etc., any reaction bonus is based upon the charisma of the leader of the party.

I don't know about conversation options, but I can confirm that with store prices, only the Charisma of the Party Leader (topmost portrait) is looked at--no matter *who* actually talks to the Merchant. Funny how Bogstench the Leech-Infested can get the lowest prices from Ribald, while Keldorn is off on the other side of Waukeen's Promenade talking to the Ophals.

Yep. For merchants it's always the party leader. That's how I discovered Jan's great lines when becoming party leader, since I had him cast Friends to get the 20 charisma needed for low merchant prices.

For Lonk, however, it is definitely whoever he actually addresses. I'll have to check the Spectator Beholder when I get there to see if that check is party leader or conversing PC, but I have a hunch that for all non-merchant NPC conversations where stats are checked it's actually the party member talking to the NPC whose stats are checked.
