Yep, due to the game engine, anything in your Head slot is a Helmet.

Just wondering, how do people actually wear Ioun Stones? I mean how big r they anyway...? And how do u put them on ur head??? Come to think about it I think it kinda sux that a stone on ur head can prevent crtical hits... but thats just me.

From what I gather, people simply 'activate' the Ioun stone, and it floats around their head, granting bonuses etc.

Yeah, from what I remember in AD&D rules/game: They actually orbit your head.

Apparently that is the case, look at the Force Stone. It's animation makes it hover over the Pc's head.

On a somewhat related topic, I happen to love the way that the Helmet animation was not executed quite right: When my guys are fighting, every time they take a swing their Helmet falls off, but luckily the chin strap is made of elastic and the helmet follows their head through the air, and finally snaps back in place as they complete their attack. That must be very distracting, don't you think?
