Byronas looked at Odin's wounds. "I will try Odin" Byronas said. Then he started to pray "Helm give me the power to heal a man in need" Byronas said and suddenly his hand lighted and touched Odin's wound which started healing. "Wait a few moments my friend" Byronas said. Some minutes later Odin was healthy again. "Now Odin please give me back my sight and then I hear your plan".

"Urm, I have mentioned my plan already, but nevermind that; and thanks for the healing, I appreciated that."

Odin Magnus clasped his hands on Sir Byronas's head and murmured a peaceful chant; and as he chanted, leafy-green swirls of magical energy twirled around his hands, enveloping Sir Byronas in a sheen of shimmering magic. It took some time, but it did not take long either, and soon the Dispel Magic succeeded in removing Sir Byronas's blindness.

"Whew," Odin wheezed. He normally could cast a whole lot more spells than this, but considering the surprise factor, the fear, his wound and among other things, it felt as though he was being pushed to the limit in a Mage training room. Catching one more breath, Odin looked up at Sir Byronas,

"I trust your eyesight has more or less recovered to their previous healthy status. Hmmmm... you might want to heal yourself as well, Helm has given you strength, but it is not unlimited. Best that you handle your wounds now before Helm decides that you have had enough help for the moment."

Patting Sir Byronas on the shoulder heartily, Odin walked cautiously towards the masked man. Casting Shield and Mirror Image on himself, he ripped off some of the tapestries on the walls and draped them over the masked man. He then murmured an incantation and shot a Flame Arrow, setting the tapestries on fire.

Odin looked at the bonfire for a while and walked back to Sir Byronas. Once Sir Byronas had healed himself, they would need to see if any of the other guests had survived the assault.

To Odin Magnus and Sir Byronas

Helm covered his face with humiliation, shoulders trembled visibly "wha...what... what is this man thinking! Didn't he read the post?? The masked man was GONE! ESCAPED!! through the Parlor's room!! Who did he just behead?" Deux smiled bitterly "It is OK, my liege. I can handle this easily, just watch..."

Back to the mortal plane:

As Odin pulled himself nearer to the headless body, the corpse began a transparent change. Little by litte, it vansished into nothingness, leaving only the vivid visual memory of what was previously there. Puzzled, the mage searched his realm of knowledge, and with a sudden understanding, he said "Thats it! The man you just killed, was nothing but a illusionery decoy played by that beast." Odin clapped his forehead and laughed heartily "What was I thinking, heh, you really should read post more carefully next time, my noble warrior. Lets not say it also saves more strength."

Well, Odin thought, now the monster had escaped, I have to act before he gets back, whatever his purpose is...

The pair (Odin and Byronas) left the Kitchen through a back door, and came out of the manshion into the open...

OOC:
Dundee and Byronas, try not to read the following part. it is nothing confidential, but it's crucial that Lucre and Regin roleplay this part to relay the information to you.

To Lucre and Regin

The man relaxed a little bit as he recognized the unhostiled voices. He looked up to the dwarf and the halfling, a sense of humiliation rushed into his head. "Am I to be saved by..." His thought stuck, why, minutes ago he was still shouting to throw them out of the manshion.

Quickly nodding a gratful thanks, the man sat himself up. "I am not hurt, just bathed in blood." He shivered visibly, still in shock of what had just happened.

"It was Loki I swear... I swear it was him..." His eyes looked into the darkness behind the halfling and the dwarf, as if recalling the dread butchering scene.

"Loki?" The halfling echoed with confusion "who is this man?"

"Lord Argiar T'Sarzkur's legion commander." Galen lost in thought "His height, his voice, and the black scimitar Zolashtar, but how could this be..." He shook his head, and bathed himself with misery "so many had died... so many..."

"Lets get outa here first" said the dwarf, obviously it was too much for this poor man. The halfling and the dwarf dragged Galen up and left the servant's house

To everyone:

Battered and battle worn, the four of them regrouped in the open, along with a Galen soaked in blood.

Urm, does this mean that everybody else died in the fire? I thought we could search for survivors.

OOC: lets say the battle lasted long enough for many people to escape.
the survivors are mostly casualties, mostly local merchants and nobles of high status. They appreciate your effort, and were taken care of.

News broke out, remaining servants were sent to look for Lord Gregor Wolfsheim. The party needs a rest, the wounded needs to be tended to. Decide your next move.

"We are all weary and tired and my clothes are muddy, they need washing!" Lucre whined at the other 4, "Why don't we all go to a local Inn and rest, in the morning things will seem more clear and we will be able to get a straight answer from this gibbering wreck." Lucre pointed at the guard. "What do you say?"

Odin Magnus looked at Lucre and laughed bitterly. He clutched the sides of his waist and bent his body from hysterical laughter.

"Sure! I mean, what else could go wrong?"

Now he was sitting on the ground and catching his breath again. Still smiling wryly, he turned his head around to watch the still burning mansion. He was supposed to sleep in there... but unless he enjoyed the smell of burnt varnish and charred wood, it was no longer an option. Sigh... he swear Fate was purposely trying to make his life miserable, given what he has been through so far.

Burying his head into his knees, Odin took a deep breath and looked up at Lucre.

"Sorry about that, I seem to have lapsed into a moment of lunacy. I am feeling much better now."

Looking sideways at the Dwarf, Odin continue,

"I still have not gotten the pleasure of knowing your name. If I may so inquire, pray do tell what your name is. I am Odin Magnus, and you are?"

The Dwarf grinned and bellowed with such a sense of pride that only Dwarves could ever have,

"My name be Regin! And I love me axe and ale!"

Odin nodded knowingly and replied,

"Please to meet you Regin. I am sure your axe and ale loves you too."

Turning back to face Lucre, Odin went on,

"I trust that you have some measure of knowledge on the surrounding area. I bade you then, to lead us to the nearest local inn where we may dine, and hopefully sleep in peace. Come the next sunrise, I will tell you what I need of you, and as for your prisoner... we can always bind him until dawn and interrogate him then."

Now standing up, Odin smoothed his robe and spoke to Sir Byronas,

"Sir Byronas, would you like to join us? Unless Helm has need of you elsewhere?"

Regin was pleased.
A good battle and some ale, was always a good thing, and could make the most surly dwarf happy
Regin had protected Lucre because he had promised, but he had also helped Odin and Sir Byronas, and he felt he had gotten some sort of special connection to these men..
The idea of adventuring together seemes obvious, and who knew, he might get some money out of this too!
