Love 'em! On Saturday night I watched as a storm passed out to sea. As I was going to work I could see orange(!) flashes in the clouds above the horizon. Beautiful!

I remember the Great Storm of 1987. It happened in 1987 and there was a great storm.

15 million trees destroyed in Southern England. 18 people killed.

The town of Sevenoaks in Kent (so named because of the seven oaks there) was reduced to only one oak.

Love them - and I had plenty to love in the recent days. Several places in the greater Copenhagen area have had a month worth of rain in a few hours.

You call that a good thing?
I'd prefer a storm outside, rainy and windy weather, knowing I don't have to go outside for at least 4 hours, over 34 degrees with a burning sun every time. Way too hot to my taste...
That, and the fact Igor and I need some lightning to strike into our conductor to revi.., erm, well, let's just say we've been creative with some meat.

I love rain! I like going to sleep when it's raining, driving in rain, walking under an umbrella getting my feet wet in rain... It doesn't tend to rain very much here though, and actual storms are even more rare. We got less than a millimetre of rain in July

Hah! It was like a monsoon here! And there was lightning and everything, no tall buildings near me with lightning conductors and all four computers in my house were kept on!

Thunderstorms are a boon to me. They're beautiful and calming. I've spent many nights sitting in my windowsill watching a storm. They give me a chance to think and something to do when I can't sleep. I am one of those nuts who'll wander out in a storm and won't care about lightning or getting wet.
