I bought myself this game over the holidays since it was quite cheap and I needed a new RPG. Well after getting up to chapter six with the game I still have to see the RP part. It is a good Diablo-style game, but you don't have enough RPG choices in it. The dialogues are single choice and the gameplay (so far) quite linear. Has anyone else experienced this about this game?

I also have two questions: throughout my adventures I acquired a Fury's Eye. Should I keep this or sell it?

And a question about party size: what is more worth it? A lot of members or just a few?

I'm actually quite fond of Dungeon Siege. They shouldn't have marketed it as an RPG -- because it's not -- but for a nice little Diablo-style action/adventure romp, it's fun.

1) Single player or Multi player? The Fury's Eye you find in single player is worthless, and as I recall you can't transfer items between single & multi player characters. However, the multiplayer Fury's Eye is part of a combination to unlock a cool secret Chicken Level in the desert near Quillrabe.

2) This is one of those games where party size makes absolutely no difference, IMO. If you double your party size, the monsters double in HP / Damage / XP / &tc. You'll find that after soloing an entire game, your solo character will be just as powerful as each char in your party of six, except he will have had a harder time of things.

Don't try to compare this with Diablo. While Diablo is a mindless clickfest. This one is you point where your character go and your character will automatically fight for you. While they are fighting you can go ahaead and do something else like eat or watch tv.

2. Less party member means more experience for your character can get and the higher level they can go AFAIK. A soloer may be able to train his char to master all 4 ie melee/range/nature magic/ combat magic.

As noted, DS is one of the few games where this is NOT true. Monster XP / HP / Damage vary in direct proportion with the number of characters in your party, so soloers will not be better than groups -- in fact, they're often worse, as they must diversify their talents to survive rather than specialize like group members can.

But, either way, the overall character levels will always be roughly the same at the end of the game (unless you never let your Nature Mage fight, because just healing doesn't get him/her enough XP by itself...)

[/QUOTE]Strange...I swear my solo player has higher level and high hp/mana/strenght/dexterity etc etc than in full 8 player character game.

It's certainly possible, but only if your party's not balanced attack-wise. In DS, XP comes from hits, not kills, so each party member must attack enemies roughly the same amount of times (with attack spells, arrows, &tc.) to get equal XP. The key is to have all mages select attack spells by default, and keep the healing / buff spells as hotkeys...
