Embarrassing stuff. 2-0 down and Horde had the flag but didn't want to cap it, instead they hung out at our GY and farmed HKs from my hapless team. Then again they were a twink guild that all grouped together while we were PUGs, but that's still no excuse for stupidity. You don't need to be Einstein to figure out that if you do the same thing over and over again (i.e. rez, run to waiting Horde, get owned, die, rinse and repeat) the same thing will happen. Even worse when I tried to cap (after telling them what I was going to do) nobody @#$% covered for me from our group, while 3 of them peeled away (pally, druid and rogue), jumped off our GY cliff and intercepted me as I was going thru midfield. I managed to kill the rogue and druid (blew all my CDs) but the pally healed himself twice and ended up killing me! All the while my team aimlessly fought a pointless battle at our GY.
I finally put an end to it by sneaking over to their FR AGAIN (which was empty), took their flag and hid it in the tents above their tunnel and FORCED my team to abandon the GY and run to THEIR FR (this was hard because my team was stupid) and make the Horde follow them. When they got into their FR I dropped the bloody flag and let them cap to put an end to it. Truly pathetic stuff. ![]() |

A word of advice, if you value your sanity, skip wsg and ab as much as possible and concentrate on av instead.

Actually, I've been doing well in WSG lately - until yesterday I had a 50-50 record there, particularly when I see the same players that I've played with before, where we've developed an understanding of how to play (i.e. they are not idiots). Yesterday's group was particularly bad - my worst, actually. I'm getting good at running the flag, and I'm usually in the top 3 in terms of damage (only ones higher than me are mages or warriors).
I actually like AB the most, even though I have less success - when a plan comes together its such a kick. Plus I noticed rogues are well-suited to AB because we can stealth, gank unsuspecting horde guards, and ninja nodes. I was proud of myself the other day - for the first time I managed to take down 3 defenders at the farm all by myself! I sapped the warrior, then took down the mage in 3 shots, then managed to kill the druid and then the warrior (though I blew all my CDs - Blind, Vanish, Sprint, Insignia) when my mongoose proc'd at the right time and I had blade flurry as well. Managed to cap the flag though we lost it as nobody came to my support - they were all fighting on the road between LM and BS. ![]() I'm not high enough to go into AV yet. Is it very different from WSG or AB? |

Sorry, I would have explained.... if it were easy.
Basically AV is a giant battlefield (Maybe 2-3 times the size of AB?) that has a series of capture points (Bunkers, graveyards and so on) as you capture these points you gain certain advantages on the battlefield (Mainly re-spawning location) but you also gain honor. The ultimate objective however is to break into the enemies stronghold and kill its commander, but its not as easy as it sounds. The best thing you can do is watch a video or try it for yourself as no matter how many times it was explained to me, the real thing is very different. Plus the AV matches play differently in each battle group as most like to just rush to the main base, where as some like to actually have fun and lengthy battles.

The main difference between av and wsg/ab is that av is littered with npcs that gives you honor points upon killing. Plus there's towers which you can cap and destroy which gives you honor points as well. Killing the opposite faction players only gives you like 1 ~ 3 honor points so you'll mostly be capping towers and killing npcs instead.
That's why players love to go av because it gives them the most honor points than wsg/ab. You can get as high as 510 honor points with a game of av alone. Plus with alliance sucking so badly at wsg/ab so most would just concentrate on av for their honor points. |

I can't stand AV personally, it's so...zergfest. Getting 30 marks for my pvp mounts alone is something I dread with each char. Especially since games can take hours sometimes...god, i've seen some horrible dragged out messes in AV.
I find AB is a good balance as far as fun pvp + good hk goes. Simply follow the group around. On hordeside it usually ends up with alliance being camped at the stables where they rez, so it's just HK after HK. I rarely see horde being camped at Defilers on any bracket so it may be harder with alliance. Plus AB is on a set timer and games are usually over quite fast one way or another. I usually make about 2-300 HK per AB.

Some Alliance think AB and WSG is rigged to Horde... how is this possible when the maps are symmetrical. AV map has terrain advantage for Alliance, but lately since the recent patch of "ZOMG YOUR AFK REPORTEDZO0RZ" More are playing so its 40 on 40, not 25 on 35.

AV is gonna take even longer next patch so get what you need from it now. But, I think that's what they want it to be as opposed to the other 2 BG's. Yeah there nis a pro alliance terrain thing goin on in AV, it's all uphill for the horde when moving toward them.
