Last week, my son got sick after a church picnic and threw up when we got home, but before he could get to the bathroom. Watermelon, strawberries... lovely shades of red. He was fine shortly thereafter, but miserable during.
It's been a while since we had the carpets cleaned, and he gave us that final justification. So Thursday, we had the cleaners come and take care of it. My wife then mentioned that we're dog-sitting for friends of ours, and I jokingly asked why we were getting the carpets cleaned before she got here. Ha, ha, ha. So Emma arrived today, and all of a sudden this evening, their dog suddenly throws up. Right on the freshly cleaned carpet... nasty. It gets cleaned up. We moan, and decide my joke about waiting isn't as funny any more. Then she throws up again, this time on a section of carpet we didn't get cleaned. At least we feel better about that. Then again... and again... and again... so far, she's thrown up nine different times on five carpets, in a dog crate, and outside. She's had a couple of repeats, and at least one that we discovered later. Called the vet, who then sent us to the emergency animal hospital line. They said she needs to be seen... up to us whether we want to go now, or wait to see her vet in the morning. I'm now on dog patrol... staying up for an extra hour or so, just to watch and listen for the dog. If she starts hacking, my job is to get her outside ASAP. If she can make it an hour without throwing up, I'm going to call it a night. Otherwise, I take a trip ![]() In the meantime (in-between vomiting spells), I was down in the basement gaming. The kids are having a sleep-over tonight in the basement, and after a battle in BG:TotSC, I hear a cry. Nope, it's not Khalid whining again... I check, and my son is in the bathroom groaning and moaning. He apparently had a bad case of diarrhea... so bad that it woke him up after the fact. It was a full one... and I'll leave the description at that. He needs a bath in the morning... preferably a shower. His pajamas are in a bag in the trash can, and his underwear are in the wash ('cause they're a favorite pair). He's now upstairs sleeping in our bed, my daughter's back in her bed (sleepover over), and my wife is in our bed on my side. Guess who's odd man out? ![]() So... here I am, at a time I'd normally be gaming, but unable to game on this computer, sharing my joy and excitement with you all. Nothing to do about it... I'm just sharing the joy. If I'm cranky or irritable tomorrow, you'll know why... Time to stop in to Cloudy's for a visit to the Endless M&M Jar. I'm running low, really low ![]()

Chin up, B. I've always thought there's a certain amount of satisfaction to be gained from feeling sorry for oneself after copping the blunt end. It's not much, but it's something.
Cleaning the carpets before taking in someone else's dog for the week though? I'm still not sure about that one. ![]()

Looks like you picked a bad week to stop sniffing glue
Always remember, it could be worse. For example, you could have a headache. Or it could be raining. Or the volcano could erupt, covering everyone in molten lava. Always look at the bright side.

Cheer up Bungleau, at least you succeeded in making us feel better about 'our' nights. A meteor could hit my house, it still wouldn't be as bad as what you've been through.

Everything seems to have worked its way out in the morning. About 1:30, I decided Emma had gone long enough without throwing up, and fell asleep on the couch in the family room. Slept in until 9, with a brief wakeup at 7 when I rolled over, looked at the dogs, and they saw my eyeballs. Eyeballs, time to play, right?
Vet says Emma's on water only today, rice and hamburger tomorrow, and back to regular food the next day. My son woke up just fine and wondered why I was sleeping downstairs Found one more throwup spot we missed last night... at least it was a small one. And Z, we've got some hardwood floors and some carpeting on this floor. Emma did not launch a single one on the hardwood... all on carpeting. As if she knew.... ![]() Emma's three years old, and she's never had an issue like this before. She had bathroom issues when she was a puppy and getting used to our house, but never anything like this. Ah well. All's well that ends well...

Truthfully, I had a fiasco like that just recently.
Some punk kid down the stree t thought it would be funny to put a "Mystery ingrediant" in my pets dishes... I'll just leave it at the fact that I have 3 dogs, and a cat... |

Don't know what to say about that, Kyrvias... other than if you know who he is, turnabout may be fair play. Weasel.
Err... turnabout to him, that is. Don't involve any more pets... but humans are okay ![]() Emma's had food today (rice and boiled hamburger), and she's been delighted to eat. No more throwing up, and back to her regular meals tomorrow. Thank god... she's gotten really pathetic, trailing anyone who even *looks* toward the kitchen...
