In light of the many misunderstandings that have happened in here, I just remembered a funny quote. I thought I'd share it with you. It's purpose is to (I hope) bring a smile to your face, but also give you (hopefully) some food for thought.

Original joke was men explaining themselves to women, but it works just as well for any misunderstanding:

"If I say something to you and it can be taken two ways, and one of those ways upsets you...I meant the other one."

Any time something someone posts here upsets you, come here and reread this quote before responding...... Have a nice day!

Good post DM.

Although, Its probably a good thing you didn't post the whole joke. Might have offended some of the female members of the board.

Actually, dear, it would have been more likely to offend the males. It was many one-liners wherein men are trying to explain their actions. (ie: remote control jokes, etc.) It would have been considered a 'male bashing' joke.

Now behave! *ruffles raven's feathers, then scritches back of his head (cause I know birds like that! )*

LOL...When I flew that Raven a few years ago, she loved it when I scritched her about her eyes and down along her nares. She would do it with her claws, but, I guess, since my fingers were softer, she liked it better. She would make the cutest noises. Did you know Raven's chirp? Like songbirds. And make all kinds of other noises. Its just that the noises most people hear is the really loud cawing.

You know...someone posted that joke at MH, and the ladies there seemed to get all bent out of shape. Guess its a difference of atmosphere.

*big smile* Actually, I'm one of the few who's had opportunity to see a raven up close and personal. Friendly thing he was, too. (At least, I was told it was a he.) So that's why I know your weakness! Not to mention all the parrots I've had a chance to scritch on. I agree, the 'softer touch' is probably what she liked.

As to the negative reaction on MH, not sure why ANYbody would get upset about it, but I think it's hilarious. Much snort laughing commenced as I read it. I get e-mails with 'guy bashing' AND 'girl bashing' jokes from friends all the time. I never take offense to either. It's all good.

If you like, I can dig it up and post it on GD. I'll put a hazard warning on it, though, just in case someone doesn't like it.
