Tribute
By Robert the Bard

We've all experienced loss
And are no strangers to pain
Whether they were loved ones, or friends
It's really all the same.
Life my friends is sacred
To no-one it belongs
Don't waste time on hatred
Instead of singing songs
Look for beauty you'll find it
It never tries to hide
Don't waste life looking 'round you
It's really all inside
Remember to love your children
And to show them everyday
Show them your affection
Love will light the way.

Give your child a hug, it may be the last chance you get.

This was inspired by the piece on my website by the same name, but is not a part of it. I entered it in a poetry competition today.
Edited title to celebrate my accomplishment.

Heart's Cry, Wolf's Song
by Gangrell (© 2005, steal it and I'll straight up sue ya ass )

It is the time of hardships that presses morals against mantles
Only to be brought down by a nightmarish reality
The key thrown away for the iron shackles
Loss and defeat becomes an common normality

Like tears lost within the ocean’s tide, one shed for every sin
The rights and wrong become defined by the individual
Driven naught but by our desires within
Clouding our eyes, hope becoming all but illusional

Down the beaten path like a bludgeon force in it’s wake
Lest we be consumed by the hardships that strive
That walk hand in hand with our mistakes
For the brief moments of victory do we feel so alive

The wolf howls, to chase, to touch the lonely moon
Valiantly the hearts cries for more to fulfill a destiny
But the beaten path of forlorn will close soon
No slave to the grind, never let fate be the best of thee

Well, I have taken the next major step to Stardom...The above poem has been selected by Poetry.com for publication. It has also been named a Semi-Finalist in their competition, and stands to win up to 11,000 dollars. I've already fainted, and danced around in my chair as much as I can. Now it's time to celebrate.

Sometimes I'm hit by the muse of inspiration, but I usually just hit her back and finish my beer.
