Wouldn't it be? And the Morning ran so smooth.... (RIPS hair out).

I came home, and the Hard Drive is clicking over and over. I am freaking. I turn it off and back on. same thing.. Then again, and now it is working. the 1st time, it booted till the Win2000 logo, then said IO error ntkersomething.dll or something was missing (it wasn't).

Anyway I scanned, and we have bad sectors. This is the 2nd time in my HISTORY with Hard Drives. And it's just over a year old, and is a 60gb drive.

Anyway, Everything is backed up, and I've 'roped off' the bad sectors, but they USUALLY continue to grow until the drive dies.

Hard Drives are cheap, thank god. But if you could help me out, paypal or something.. It's like $90 for the same drive I think, and then I gotta ghost this drive to the new drive.

Norton Ghost will copy the entire OS (win2000) NTFS right?? I DO NOT want to start a new install if I can help it, it's perfect the way it is.

I know we just did a larger than normal donation thing. Jeez, I TRY to make the forum better, and something HAS to happen. Anyway, if I can raise the money by tomorrow, I'll go out and pick up the drive tomorrow and get this swapped out. We may not have long before it's down guys.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

HD Does seem slower now. BTW, in the event viewer, I have a BUNCH Of these right before it failed:

The device, \Device\Harddisk0\DR0, has a bad block.
The device, \Device\Harddisk0\DR0, has a bad block.

This should be Pirengle the BNN her account and avatar but...

And when I tried to acces a thread in the BG II - SoA section I got a abnormal failure, saying that I should inform the admin. (thats you )

It looked like this.

Quote:
Sorry, UBB has encountered an unexpected, fatal error. This error is extremely abnormal. Please contact the board administration. The error text is:

Can't open 'NonCGIPath/Forum2/021002.cgi'.

The exact error returned by the operating system is:
Invalid argument

I hope you get a new HD soon, because this one isn't gonna last long if you ask me (looking at the things that happend)

Look at this Ziroc, I'm scanning the IW forum here.. to find any errors/failures.

http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/cg...?ubb=forum;f=5

Thats a pretty much failure like thing, right?

Good luck, I hope you can copy all the files and get your hands on a new HD

Ziroc, we have just GOT to get a subscription service in place. With as much traffic as this one gets, obviously you are going to need a regular income.

YEP. What happened was that the SECOND the drive failed, whatever was posted and WHO was posting, got corrupted.

I just did some checking, 99% of stuff is looking perfect. (Whew)

Keep looking for me (don't 'overlook' though.. )

I don't encounter any other abnormalities Ziroc, I'll keep checking for you.

It seems only a few files got corrupted, we should see when other members enter IW again. (I doubt it that Pirengle was the only one that got corrupted, though I hope so that she was the only one)

I'll keep ya posted

This suppose to happen right..?
yeah. I reindexed the BG:SOA Forum just incase. But I can't delete that one post 020001 (I'll do it later.. gotta shut the webserver down to access it.) corrupt files can be a bitch to delete. usually do it in dos in the older days.

But all looks good so far. I think that one garbled post was being replied to BY Pringle, so that may be why his account got crapped.. Everything looks fine so far.

Even if everything died, I have a copy backup so it's not a big deal really.

Thanks for helping me! I gotta go take a nap, I've been going non-stop so long, I am starting to shake. Nighty night till ta'night
