That is absolutely false, don`t follow that up. I got a similar one a while ago, and after some research found that the FBI/CIA (whoever they are) are warning against it. Apparently they scam you of your money and eventually try and have you go to their country, where they kill you. No fewer than 4 Europeans and 1 American have been killed in Africa after following this up, and dozens more have lost their entire bank balance.

So, be warned, do NOT reply to that or any other similar mail.

I've heard of those before, an obvious scam to rip off your money, didn't know they tried to lure you to their country to kill you though! Dang! I figure *most* people won't fall for that cheap scam (yes in a way it is a bit funny RevRuby).

Yes, this is known as the Nigerian Scam. As LadyZ says, they usually just clean out your bank account, but I have heard of people actually flying to Africa and getting killed.

I get email from this one company repeatedly. They are some diploma organization or something, and they change their email constantly. I have sent two emails asking them to take me off their mailing list, but they have not done so. Here is the list of blocked emails, all of which are from the same company:

masters.phd
u_d_p.net
ud_program.net
udp_1.net
university_degree.net
your_future.net
all@youneed.now
get@adiploma.now
ican@tell.you
info@career_center.121
info3@career_center.121
phdmasters@bachelors.yes
prosper@diplomanet.ws1
ud@university_diplomas.net
udp@diplomas_1.net
udp@university_diplomas.net

There are some other ones on here with a @eclic.email3.net that I'm not sure about, but there are six of those too. Talk about spam!!

Ive got both of those. The nigerian scam is quite famous nowadays. Apparently some Nigerians have made megabucks from it.

The diploma is just normal spam though. I dont know what happens if you send them money, but the remove from mailing list is a waste of time.
