If i was a follower of the teachings of Jesus Christ what would my stand on a war in Iraq be?

Christ is love.

Excellent question. Unfortunately I'm not qualified to make a comment.

The pope is also a follower of the learnings of Jesus Christ. But in the past that never stopped him to go on a crusade. I'm sure Bush also believes in Jesus Christ, what does it matter ?

The pope today is one of the most prominent anti-war figures. Matter of fact, a diverse lot of religion organizations together have condemned invading Iraq.

I have a strong hunch that Christ would be anti-war, just a hunch though.

So i am curious as to how pro-war christians (which i believe to be an oxymoron), reconcile thier faith in Christ (read: Love) with the knowledge of the deaths that are sure to come on both sides.

Does a christian have to reconcile the feelings at all? Is going to war even an issue for a devout christian? I read the article at msnbc that Cerek linked to and it left me with a lot of questions.

If i was a follower of Christ i would ask myself what he would do. What answer i could come up with.. i would follow i believe. But that is if i had faith so to speak.. so i am curious as to how a true Christian would act. Would he/she ask what Christ would do? Would they follow what guidance their prayers had offered them?

This question is a black and white one.. and i know their are not very many black and white answers for it. Still.. some food for thought maybe..

Faith won't stop Saddam from trying to get his hands on nukes. It'll take a little more than that, like an F/A 18 Hornet.
