when playing i get sound (ie= walking striking etc.)
but no sound on opening doors or gates or spells (example when savant henchmen blow up i get no sound of them whinning or blowing up) if you need my sys info please see ( wizardry bug 225 dated 11/24/03 ) thanks in advace for all answers |

Maybe they've switched themselves off. Check in the Audio portion of your control box, above the "load, save, quit, exit" bars.

I sometimes get something similar. The characters talk but no sound during battle, and no messages about stats going up but they do. After the saved battle, I reload the game from scratch. The voices come back and I get the messages. May be a mem problem. I have 800 Mhz, 256 MB, but it still happens if I play for a long time. And when I check maps, etc., that eats up mem. this is just a guess as to why.

no there still on and its only certain sounds i dont get not all.
no problems with maps and i am runing an amd 1700+ with 5000 mem 32 mem ge force 2 vid card |

maybe some of the installation didn't stick, and the sounds are just missing--if you want to try reinstalling, just hide your saves in another folder first.

personally, i play with all sound off except the voices at a low level - with maybe some sound effects very faint in the background.

I AGAIN REINSTALLED NEW DRIVERS AND THAT SEEMS TO FINALLY HAVE DONE IT
