Hi, I have some questions about this RPG:
1.Where can I rest except some people who I ask "Can I rest here?" and if they agree... ? You know should I travel 100 miles to rest after two spells are cast in order to restore them ? 2.I'm lvl 7 and I'm in lower ward - I already dealed with the Lord of the Bone and Skull - where can I find some armor damn it, my ac is 7 and everybody is hitting me so easily. My strange comapnion (from the Hive - the bar where s.o. burns) have ac -2 and he have armour. Even the skull have ac 2. And Annah ... 3.Can I be sorcerer or mage? I can be fighter or thief - I know this. Thank you. |

Well Im playing it right now also.
Youre slightly ahead of me. Im in the rat area. You can become a mage or a thief in ragpicker square. Mage inside the hut, you need to do an errand for her. You talk to dakkon once you become a mage, and you can switch back and forth from fighter to mage. You can rest a lot of places, just try out the hourglass. Usually inside places. In dungeons you basically cant rest. The nameless one gets no armor, he uses tatoos. [ 05-27-2003, 06:54 AM: Message edited by: the mighty stamar ] |

Pump DEX a bit for an AC bonus, and get some tattoos from Fell.

Thanks.
The game is cool, but it takes a lot of time to play. I can not say it is easy. Nobody tolds me that when I become mage I'll lose my 7 fighter levels, but never mind. I'm already mage lvl 6. By the way on that square I found the thief, but it seems I've missed the mage -I met Sebastian (he made me mage) at the Lower Ward. It seems that I can not be sorcerer. When I got Annah with me after entering the building near burning corpse bar I saw animation - Pharod killed by the same black things that appeared after my exit from the mortuary. But I do not return to see him or what was left after his death - should I return for the bronze sphere? It seems that the things are extremly powerful. I have two people dual-classed with me fighter/mage and fightr/thief - can I dual-class ? I took black book from some human-rat mage what wants (the book) some sacrifice from me in order to grant me some powers. Should I use this thing? The first sacrifice is some blood and the second is one of my party members. I don't like this book. |

I believe planescape torment dual classing is nothing like any other ie game.
you switch back and forth by talking to your party members. they are multi classed, but you are single classed but can switch at any time. experiment with it, you can go back to fighter and use your weapon proficiencies. |

If you are a mage, I suggest you return to get the bronze Sphere from Pharod. You'll need it near the end of the game

You mean I can be thief or fighter or mage whenever I want to - this sounds great. But wait, the xp will be lost, or if I have left fighter lvl 7 and I return to the fighter class I will be lvl 7 again or not ?

Don't worry, you will continue from lvl 7 if that's what you left as, and you can keep the hit points and weapon skills no matter what your current class is. One thing to remember, you should stick to one class once you find one you like, because you get some benefits when rising, if I remeber correctly, at levels 6 and 12 in one class, that you won't get if you switch classes inbetween.

another note for your benefit if you are gonna be a mage, put all your prof's in daggers (switch to fighter and train them up, then switch back)
the closest thing the nameless one gets to armor is the dustmans robes in the mortuary other than that fel the tattoo artist can pump your dex and AC with tattoos (give the +2 Dex tattoo to Annah)

save your tats for the most important stats in the game, Wis and Int.
use jewelry for your AC. Ring of the Traveller, the Magus Guard, and the ring Marta helps you "acquire", the Twisted Ring. those right there give you -5 to your current AC. i was AC 7 until i got those. now i'm AC 2. if you get the higher versions of the guard and the ring, you'll have a bonus of -7 to your AC. add several quests (Que Sai and the Way of the Stone, among others, comes to mind) and you'll be very well protected. the rings and bracelets and earrings that boost AC are all available at the Market Place in the clerk's ward. the quests, well, you just haveta talk to literally everyone. sometimes more than once and several you haveta totally pester. but its worth it every time you see that little notice above Nameless' head "Constitution +1" or "Dexterity +2". oh. never pass up a quest. as you go along, you'll find that, depending on the quest (whether it's just talking to someone or a long drawn out "Drowned Nations" type quest), you'll get bonuses for your stats along with exp points. it totally rocks when you talk to 2 people in a matter of 2 gameplay minutes and get +2 to your Charisma. but also, besides giving you MASSIVE exp bonus, high Wis unlocks SO many conversational paths that you just don't even come close to if you play like a standard rpg. and even if you haven't gone the Wis/Int route, often if you go back and talk to people a second time, later on, other things will open up. My Current Nameless stats (we just arrived at Clerk's Ward: Fighter 5/Mage 8 (AC 2) Wis 24 (+2 tat) boost every level up Int 22 (+2 tat) boost every level up Cha 14 (+4 quest & tat bonuses) STR 9 (orig) CON 12 (+2 quest bonuses) DEX 9 (orig) V***V
