Hello Everyone! I have just started playing BGII Shadow of AMN. In Chapter 1 am having trouble looking for the portal key. Where exactly is it.

Ive read the walkthrough guide and it says look in the masters bedroom. I assume the masters bedroom is the room I get to in front of the dryads. Looked everywhere but no portal key.

Also my main char is Kensai is this ok? I maxed the kensai's proficiency in katana? Is this a good idea?

Please help.

Welcome to IW!
The portal key is in a room full of traps just south of the dryads!
Any character is ok if you enjoy him!

Go to the Dryads. Talk to them, and you will learn that it is in the mistresses bedroom, as you already know.
Now go south, and a little west, and you will come to a beatuful room.
With once you go through the door there, a bell will ring. After a while now, two golems will appear.
Now, the portal key is in the chest/unit if front of the bed.

Ohh, and Kenais do match very well with katanas, so you did a great choice.

I've looked inside the masters bedroom perhaps there is another bedroom? Because in this bedroom I already found 2 wand keys a statue & some other stuff but no keys. I will look further & see if I can find it. Thanks to u for the very warm welcome!

Wrong room i think. Beside the masters bedroom are three dryads... and past them is another bedroom, inside it is the key. Beware : Golems will attack and the room is riddled with traps.

Thanks very much to you all. I found the room. To think I walked all around the dryads room but didn't find this room . I somehow missed it. Anyway I have a new problem which I'll post under a different heading. Thanks guys.
