My current party made it's way through the Rapax Rift and got to El Dorado--killed him w/out much problem. Went into Al-Sedexus chapel and saw she had her back turned toward us. Well, this never happened to me before and it was too much of an opportunity. We attacked and though she fought back ferociously we killed her.
I fully expected constant fighting in the Rapax Castle but remembered Ferro 287 (hey, sorry if I got your digits wrong) giving some winks about things working the same even if you killed someone out of turn. Well, I got into the big fight in the castle, but I finally made it up to Al-Adryian. Surprise, he thought we might make good Templars. We did the whole jig, and my Lord, Dupre, wound up nailing Al-Sedexus. Everything is going just the same as I'm used to, until I'm in the Savant's tower, trying to disarm the bomb (I messed up, and had to keep pushing buttons until I got it right--man, was that an unhappy hour), and I realize Dupre is not suffering for being out of the Rift. Now, I just returned to the Rift, went back into Al-Sedexus' Chapel, and she gave me this big 1122 hp goofy look until I killed her. So, I guess, if you can attack A-S before she talks to you, you can kill her and still become a Templar without getting bound, or whatever it's called, and have a leisurely 2nd A-S killing. I'm sure a lot of players already know this, but it was news to me. Oh, and Dupre still gave some speech about, "At last the curse is lifted, blah, blah." |

Hadn't heard of killing her twice. You took a big risk, but that's what makes the game fun, trying new things. Glad it didn't ruin the Templar quest and kill access to AP.

Not such a big risk. It's a quick dash from el-d to al-adryian if you don't hang around at the courtyard. Oh, and Dang, you got the digits right
Al-S was one i was thinking of when I said that you can kill everyone (once or twice or more ![]() |

Yeah, I was glad I was able to do the templar initiation. My samurai got killed once while we were upstairs. That place would be rough to do without being able to become a templar, but I figured I would take the chance. I mean I already beat the game and saw every ending, so it's not like I'm gonna cry if I can't ascend.
Still, it's nice to know I didn't doom the quest. And you're right, Ziggurat, it's trying new things that makes this game so much fun! Here's another interesting mess up I did with this party that ought to provide some fun. (More spoilers, of course.) This party is supposed to be some of the companions of the Avatar from the Ultima series. I was taking along Saxx because I hear he makes some comments when you ascend and I hadn't ever taken him very far before. Then I thought, how can I have Iolo if I don't have a triple crossbow? So I picked up Madras, someone I would probably never even use normally. I was going to try to do the T'rang-Umpani alliance, but once when talking to Z'Ant I clicked on him with the Astral Dominae instead of the Chaos Moliri, and he came up with the speech about us being traitors and ordering the watchers to attack. Well, once the fight w/ Z'Ant and friends was over, I decided to clean out the T'rang, and since I was already there, I might as well overload the ship. So I got a big xp reward for destroying the ship even though I hadn't rescued Glumph yet, so I hadn't received the kill the T'rang quest. At some point I teleported back to Mt. Gigas and talked to Yamir, got the reward for killing the T'rang and the mission to meet him on Mt. Gigas. Well, later, I went back to Bayjin cause I needed to visit Nessie and the sea caves. BTW, I'm doing things out of my usual order, I usually clean up everything else before the Rift. So I notice the prisoners are still there, and decide after clearing nessie and the sea caves, I will drop off Saxx via the Mt. Gigas water caves, then return for glumph and bring him back. Did I mention I don't have anyone who can cast portal? So I drop off Saxx next to Rubble, since I never actually got the instructions from him he's still there. Oh, and since I never actually opened the gate to UTU training, I can't get back into Mt. Gigas proper. This post is getting too long. Basically I took Glumph back to Yamir the long way, and when I try to talk to him, instead of noticing Glumph, he tells me I have my orders (meet him on A Peak, I guess). I gave him the fallen soldiers' dog tags (from Nessie's area) and he said what a sad story it was, Glumph was in charge of that mission. "For Pete's sake, General, can you not talk about Glumph LIKE HE'S NOT STANDING RIGHT HERE!" I also went to Balbrak who gave me another L5 pass so I could deliver Glumph, but Yamir still won't acknowledge his presence. So now it looks like I'm stuck with Glumph (oh yeah, he won't leave--"You get me back to Mt. Gigas!"--even in Mt. Gigas). I hear if you don't take him home quick enough he will attack you. Otherwise, I guess he's going to Ascension Peak (after falling unconscious a whole lot). And, I forgot to remove the staff of doom from Saxx before I dismissed him. (I seriously thought he was going to explode from HP drain, but I guess that doesn't work for non-recruited RPCs). And Ferro287--I guess the fact that I got the digits right means I come to this board way too often. |

You can strip Glumph naked and put him in front and let some Juggernauts kill him. Just keep healing them tell they're done. Then you can dismiss his corpse.
