anybody have a battle, experiance or item that was really cool. LETS HEAR IT!

one epic battle of mine:
-the battle against the rapax prince. it was then after known as bloody sunday. only 3 (in my party of 8) survived. it was long and difficult. spells flew left and right and death became very tangable. if it was not for my fighter. we whould have been left with 2 unconcious valkeries. and even then, my fighter was lacking stamina.

and my battle against nebdar was no laughing matter.

Here's one of mine I mentioned on 5/15:

Here we were...we had seen the T'rang who sells stuff, I forget his name. The team was about level 10 and then the ghosts attacked as we were trying to head back to the big T'rang kahuna. About 15 strong ghosts attacked, I didn't have soul shield so I was at their mercy. Lo and behold and sacre bleu some T'rang watchers and their little friends joined the action. I have seen these roach guys being herded along but never knew they could be of any help. Well, the action got hot and many of my people were asleep or hexed or whatever. It looked like a goner. The watchers either defended from afar or fled. But these other guys, the lowly roaches, went right up to the Rebel Spirits and other ghosts and attacked when we were incapacitated. They gave us enough time to recover, after much worry, and we won the battle! Never underestimate the power of a roach (or other similar NPCs such as Myles). They can make a difference. Any other stories like that out there?

(you can do a search on roaches to continue the thread and get other good stories...)

my priest, mage, ninja, rogue party was on AP heading to place the 3rd item. just before reaching the rapax army, we ran into 3 gazers of some sort. over 2 rounds they made us all insane. the rogue killed the priest, the ninja killed the rogue. next round the mage resurrects the rogue, the ninja kills the mage, and the ninja succumbs to spell damage. next round, the rogue resurrected the priest but got turned insane. then the priest resurrected the ninja, and the rogue killed a gazer (instead of the priest). next round the ninja finished the gazers and the priest resurrects the mage just in time to share in the spoils.

Being hostile when going in to, the Rapax away camp. Got about 20 templars, 5 high templars, lots of bowmen, and lots of patrols. About a total of 60-70 rapax altogether. Element shield and the bards dulcimer of mending were my biggest friends in that battle, as each one of the templars cast either fireball or noxious fumes in nearly every round. My party was mage, priest, bard, fighter and rogue. The fighter and the rogue killed off the meleers, the archers were'nt a problem because of missile shield, and the mage cast several level 7 blizzards trying to wipe the rest of the enemy out. Eventually at the end everyone survived without dying even once. Probably fighting in the small entrance of the away camp helped, though after I ran out of mana for the mage and the priest I had to close in to finish off the rest of the templars.

The fight in the southern wildernesse temple, with a party that might have entered at a too low level.

Toxic cloud worked too well on my party. And the death cloud and death wishes worked, too. Soon, all party members were death or knocked out. A few rounds after, only the priest was alove (but k.o.). Well, so much for that party, i thought (playing ironman). But the priest didn't fell to the death spells, the cultists and elements were killed by a reflected death cloud (eye for an eye), and the deathlords and the lady didn't close up to finish me off. About 5 rounds later, the priest awoke, and started to ressurrect my party members. I won the fight.

I know it probably isn't on the same level as you guys but...
KIND OF A LITTLE SPOILER
.
.

My Party:
Dracon Fighter lvl. 5
Human Samuri lvl. 4
Human Ranger lvl. 4
Rawulf Bishop lvl. 4

I was in the lower monestary. I had already killed off Gregor and the King Crab. I went to go get the resurrect powders at the waterfall and I ran into 15 (2 groups:8 and 7) of Seekers. They were all on level 8 (Mighty)!!! I'm like AHHHH!!!! My character's highest level was 5 and I only had a party of 4.

After I got done craping in my pants... I decided to fight. I used walk and got as close as I could. Then 9 MORE Wolf Spiders at level 6 showed up. COME ON!!! "MAN!!!" I thought to myself. 24 vs. 4!!!

If that wasn't bad enough, the spiders shot webs at my team and had everyone paralysed. Then the seekers felt "oh lets make this harder for him" and continously hit me with acid splash. By now everyone was paralysed and nausiated. AC went to the floor, minus this and minus that. Can it get any "better"? OH YES IT CAN!!! As soon as paralyse drop off, all of my stamina was gone. So I couldn't run, could barely fight, had no HP (the highest was 22 and it went down to 13/the lowest was 16 and went down to 4) No way in heck was I going to win this one right... WRONG!!!

My first move was to use Mind Stab. Of course it made one seeker go "lu lu". He begun to attack other seekers at will. Then I positioned myself against a wall and forced them to take me one on one. Like people wanting deli meats, they just lined up (one after another) and "each took a ticket". I defended while the crazy seeker fired away. When my stamina went back up, I casted every offensive spell I could at them. I hade my fighter use Dracon Breathe (inorder to affect as many as I could). The Samuri just kept attacking (eventually passing out). The Ranger just kept shooting (using about 40+ arrows). 30 mins later. Battle Over.

I know that it wasn't 60 Rapax (cheers dplax!!!) but for an early fight it was pretty hard for me. And for some odd reason (even though it is good) none of my people died. I came real close with my Bishop (3 HP left) but good defense and luck payed off in the end.

excellent, asg! those early ones are often overlooked, but still deliver a lot of stress and, with a little luck, triumph!

wb - your story reminded me of the time i took my fighter, rogue, bard, bishop party into the temple a bit too early. toxic cloud, and rambunctious elementals wiped out half the party (bishop/fighter), and my rogue and bard kept trying to resurrect, but the death cloud was taking as many away as we were bringing back. finally, it was just the bard with only one res powder left. the others had more, but given our resistances i figured it was a lost cause. so i let the bard swing away against 2 elementals, both death lords and the sorceress.

this was the battle that, for me, defined the bard. she was missed often (luckily everyone was swinging at her, except the sorceress who only used low level attack spells), when she was hit her shield saved her. she proceeded to very calmly chop up first one death lord, then the other, and then both elementals. THEN i decided to use that res powder!

in the end, everyone is resurreceted in time to share in the spoils and the bard is the hero, turning around what i thought was as sure reload.

I have one

Party was as follows:
Lizzie Fighter lvl 10
Hobbit Bard lvl 10
Human Priest lvl 9
Gnome Alchemist lvl 9
Mook Pscionist lvl 9
Faerie Mage lvel 9

On my way to trynton, hugging the hillside (learned very early on to do this in case of situations like the one I will describe) I was about half way there when I ran into 8 juggernauts (hate those creatures!) 16 Dusk Bats 12 plants (various varieties) 2 greater seekers 8 stalker seekers, 1 queen ant and 9 soldier ants. Luckily I had just barely gotten passed a deep crevice in the hillside, my first and immediate action was to run and get into the crevice before any of the creatures could get into melee range, this way they would have to take me on one at time. So I'm nicely wedge in the crevice and thinking "Good let them come then!" when lo and behold 2 Geomancers (I think they were geomancers anyway) show up along with their 2 pet elementals and about 8 Higardi bandits. Suddenly my brave words turned to "Shoo shoo go away!" lol The Geomancers were my biggest threat at this point, (darn fireballs!) My Fighter and bard proceeded to take out anything in melee range and my casters were busy casting disabling and any area/cone effect spells they had, which more often then not failed to disable/cause much damage (ugh) Didn't take long for the fireballs to widdle away the casters hit points/stamina and they soon were all dead which left my poor bard and fighter standing alone. I had been lucky so far considering and most of the juggernauts missed their hits more often then they contacted, but that darn queen ant spit it's venom at my bard and insaned her, at which point she promptly turned bloodlust on the fighter and took him out! I'm sitting here thinking "Ok this it, nice try guys but you are clearly outnumbered and out skilled here" One of the enemy casters fires off another fireball and either god was listening and took pity on me or it was just dumb luck, but the fireball back fired and took out a good number of the higardi bandits and killed one caster. The bard came back to her senses and proceeded to say "Hey Now! They're ganging up on me" She looks around at all of her dead commrades, wondering which to resurrect first, she decided to rez the mage first. The Mage comes back, downs a healing potion and a magic nectar and casts a disabling spell, ahhhhhhh cool it worked and most of the enemy was webbed. The Mage then rez's the priest, the priest rez's the alchy and so on. Now with all the members alive (barely) The party proceeded to get back to business and soon the day was won. This was a really tough fight for me considering that I had only just started playing the game and didn't have much experience with it.

I have to say of all the enemy creatures in this game, I hate juggernauts and those darn plants the most! The juggernauts have tough hides and are hard to do much damage on and when they are toast they don't yeild much XP's and those plants with their shooting thorns and spores are really annoying!
